well,d.stomper the american church isn,t doing too good. but if you check out church history,the 1st [true] church=read about in BOOK OF ACTS.IN BIBLE, they turned the world up-side down. of IT=COST them alot of blood. sorry to say it, but american- christianity is perverted. it,s all about getting instead of giving. a few get-it. they are mostly ignored by organized religion & media.TRUE LOVE doesn,t HIDE in a pretty church building.there is a price to pay. but the rewards are worth it.

HI FLORA, my understanding is ''poor in spirit''not that being poor is a sign of being special. in fact,the bible say,s[book of proverbs] that poverty is a curse.POOR IN SPIRIT is acknowledging the fact that we need to be born-again, to understand spiritual things.
