Some funny quotes I found by Ms Squire

thread for quote one

Here ya go trolls...

[target.gif]

Another TARGET. (Do your darndest!)

[snip]

Then, like most of you, we're completely SICK of the trolls, hecklers and general nonsense posters. What a major pain they are and a waste of time and energy!

Since no one person wants to be glued to the internet 24/7 it's better to have a group of regular posters, JOINED BY ALL OF YOU, to keep many eyes on the lookout for dribble posts that really need a quick delete.

If you see something that needs attention just post a "DELETE PLEASE" request on that thread. When several "real" posters (not trolls) say "delete" then fine. (It's a democratic group thang).

All pollys, doomers and every flavor of the Y2K rainbow of posters is welcome to state their opinions about Y2K and inter-related topics.

Flammers will be encouraged by all us to "calm down," whereas out-and- out hecklers and "potty" trash may receive a (relatively) quick delete.

None of us is "into" censorship, editing posts, seemingly taking away ANYONE's freedom-of-speech, etc. (Shudder!) But we would like to encourage the wonderful and diverse exchange of opinions that this Forum is *sometimes* known for.

*Sigh*

;-D

link for quote two

LOL... Ed!

"Yourdon.... thinks that the vast majority of people are unprepared."

Heck!... Koskinen's MADE SURE... THE VAST MAJORITY OF PEOPLE ARE UNPREPARED!

*Sheesh!*

Here ya go trolls...

Fortunately, most the Y2K regulars KNOW what is important... with five and a half months and counting...

PREPARING for the great Y2K unknowable. So, lets get on with it!

Shift happens.

Diane, still a 5 locally. Globally... ranging between 1 thru 10 in unknowable places!

BTW, Questions anyone?

For the trolls... bottom line... its still about Y2K and ALL its ramifications... and so is the Time Bomb 2000 Forum!

Go team!

Well rewarded? It shouldn't surprise me cpr believes this. He also used to think new threads were started on TB2000 to push threads with good news about y2k off the new questions screen...

"used to think"?? It was not "think". The question we had was never "if" but "why"? In sharp contrast to the de-bunkers and the Non- Doomers who never told peope what to think (we told you what we thought you could not believe) the "Play Directors of FearBombI" DID tell you exactly what to believe: "you done better prepare or you are kaputsville".

We could document it 100s of times. It was deliberate to divert the casual visitors and even mislead the regulars thus preventing them form coming out from under the Propaganda smog.

That was not original to me. Paul Davis documented it and posted it to StinkBomb I. It was one of the reasons he left. It was bad enough that people would counter him with ignorance. It was worse when the Web site Directors and Producers would change the stage settings and bury his threads. It was right out of a playbook of how to capture and hold any political or social group by a minority.

And as can be seen now, removing the CENSORS and the "Choreographers" enables most posters on this site to make up their own minds without the Fog.

I still believe that. There were three methods to bury any one posting good news. Out would come Keven/linkmeister and the rest with old links endlessly repeated to counter the news. When they couldn't do that the Cult Choir would pounce on their posters of good news and just "rant and chant" down the non-True Believers and non-preparers. Dead end the thread and bury it under a bunch of "change the subject" threads" so that new visitors or even daily ones couldn't or didn't see the post.

In the words of our dearly beloved, "another interesting piece of the puzzle"...

"*sigh*". She and old git gave new meaning to the word twit.

And before anybody jumps on this post. Yes, I have an ax to grind. These two "women" (they give the female sex a bad name), gave me a lot of grief last year when they were WRONG and I was right. I could picture Miss Piggy's face turning red as I calmly questioned her conclusions. And old twit running to her husband asking for agreement on how the military works. What a duet!

I feel sorry for Paul if he thought his threads were being buried. The uncomplicated explanation for the continuing interest in Y2k there was that the forum's name was Time Bomb 2000, not Debunking Y2k. It was intended for people who were concerned about the impact of Y2k on their personal lives. The Gary North is a Big Fat Idiot and Debunking Y2k forums were for those concerned about the impact of Y2k panic on their lives.

The irony of Y2k is that the concerns of those on both sides of the Y2k awareness issue turned out to be unnecessary.

No, the irony is that the doomers and their supporters were "OK" with tagging the realists with propigating "spin" and the "deaths of many". There was going to be "blood on polly hands"....they were called shills, assholes and worse. some were even murdered horribly in fictitous scenarios....all to the praise of the onlookers. Very few stood up to be counted and said "Hey, wait just a damn minute here...."

The irony is that those that acted so dispicably last year have run off and holed up under their various rocks....instead of apologizing for the way they acted.

(kudos to those who have made amends for previous poor behavior)

-- IRONy MAN (marvel@comic.book), June 16, 2000.

What is the plural of "kudos"?

There was a lot of name calling on the part of both doomers and pollys. Speaking for myself, I did not care to read--and certainly did not want to engage in conversation with--extremists on either side.

As many messages as there were last year, most people had to decide which threads were the most important to read. The threads with documentation and reasoning are the ones I mostly chose to read. Threads started to provoke yet another round of flame wars were threads to be avoided.
