Micro Systems report Y2K caused lower profits

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Grassroots Information Coordination Center (GICC) : One Thread

Micros Systems (MCRS) plunged 35 percent after the
company warned that revenue and per-share earnings for the
fourth quarter will miss analysts' expectations. The company
cited a slowdown in customer orders, which it sees as
temporary, due in part to the after effect of Y2K and
longer-than-normal sales cycles of information technology
products. The company is slated to post earnings Aug. 30.
Shares declined 8 3/8 to 17 1/4.
