Goat milk and Milk Separators???

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I used to keep milk goats and still miss them very much. My husband, in particular, cannot have any fat to speak of in his diet (it pays off - his total cholesterol went from 459 to 187 just through dietary changes.) But I continue to pine for my goats. Would it be possible to thoroughly rid the goat milk of cream with a separator, and if so, would it be possible to buy a separator that wouldn't cost all of my appendages??

Yes, goat milk can be seperated very successfully. I've done it many times to make butter.. Try putting an ad in the paper saying you want one. Try Hoegger or Caprene Supply. I have had mine for years and it needs retined, but that costs all 4 appendages.. Good luck.. Doris in Idaho

Thank you. Do you have the addresses for those people? It would be so wonderful if I could have a goat. I really appreciate your suggestions.
