Corel Corp., the financially troubled Ottawa, Ontario
software company, has cut its payroll by 320
employees (21% of its workforce) in order to reduce
costs. Corel, hurt by the recent collapse of its plan
to be acquired by Inprise/Borland Corp., recently
agreed on a $20 million equity-financing package
with Canaccord Capital Corp.
