The new Moto Sports, send feedback

greenspun.com : LUSENET : New England Motocross Racing : One Thread

I passed out about 500 copies of the latest Moto Sports this past Sunday at Southwick and I was just wondering what those who got a copy thought of it. I put more people pictures in this one, did you guys like that? Any suggestions?

RON, You made the cover of New England Motocross !!! and I get 250 visitors a day ! LOL just busting your chops !

Paul, I think your mag Moto Sports is great! I think we all would like to see pictures of ourselves in the mag, but it is impossible.(I am sure you hear "When are you going to put me in?" all the time. )But I do have some suggestions, by no means is this criticism. I think the local flavor of the Interviews with Tony and the Verakas were great, I would rather see the local boys (and girls) than the pros.(That is what MXA and the other mags are for.) Interview a couple riders from the local experts to Novice and Am too. Hey these are the people we race with everyweek why not find out a little more about some of them. Include Moto questions , but also imaginative questions like if you won the lottory .... If you could be a pro who would you be and why (Ask this of a 50 rider)Just a little diferent than the norm. The question of what type of music do you listen to can be a little palin. Have a column an (Unknown writer) who has a nose for local dirt and rumors, (NO slanderous statements)Other ideas maybe a tech interview or tips, an article to help others, for example ask a bunch of riders to give a response for a particle question on a track obstacle. I.E. How do you attack the central vilage whoop section ? 10 different riders giving an answer on how they set up for it and go through it. A day with article. Some human interest stuff. Be different than those Calif. publications that tell everyone what is cool and hip and what isn't. Dave has done a great job with this site, it could also be a great tool for you Paul, Post you email and ask people to write an article or ask for comments, feedback or participants. You have a great thing going and it is equally great that you care about the sport ! People I am sure are more than willing to help. They don't even have to leave their own homes and they can contribute. Again good work Paul!

I know, greedy little bastard... I just had to bust Paul a little... By they way Dave, it's going really good.. Ironic, I'm sitting in an HTML class right now, learning more about building Web pages...

Class !!!! i never took a class, LOL I just leaned it all my self ! sort of like how jack cuts the track ! "it just happend" im going to change up things soon on the page ! a little bit more graphic. but I want to keep the loading time down ! so not alot of Java.

Ya, I usually use Front Page at work for the pages I do, It's cool to know the actual HTML code though.. It's actually a lot harder than Front Page.. I guess there are a lot oif Front page extensions that dont work in a lot of Browsers.. Obviously IE is fine, but Netscape doesn't like a lot of the Front page items.. Anyways, it's cool stuff... Shoot, maybe I should help you out with this page....

THE ONLY SUGGESTION I HAVE IS THAT YOU PUT SOME FEMALE RACERS IN THERE !

-- JENN (MXCHIK520@aol.com), June 09, 2000.

Hey Jenn, I thought you liked to look at all the guy racers. Let's see 2000 racers in New England 12 of them are female, that's 0.6% of the racer population. There were about a hundred photos in the last issue, so I guess I owe you six tenths of a photo. Ok I'll combine that with next issue's quota of female photos and put in a whole one. Let's see which female is it going to be? Any suggestions MXchick?

-- Paul Buckley (buckley@ici.net), June 09, 2000.

YA THE ONE WHO GOES TO ALL THE RACES OR ALL OF THEM !

-- JENN (MXCHIK520@AOL.COM), June 09, 2000.

Hey paul, Are you going to mail them to people who gave you their adreess? or did you give them all out at southwick. Also Mxchik, I wonder if Stacy Bau will be at southwick trying to qualify for main. She was suppose to do all outdoors. I herd in door did't go well for her.

YA WHEN DO I GET TO WRITE A COLUMN?

-- JACK CAMELIO (jack camelio@aol.com), June 09, 2000.

I WENT TO JOLLY ROGERS A COUPLE WEEKENDS AGO WITH MY FRIEND FOR MOTOCROSS SCHOOL FOR WOMEN.. AND WE DROVE 2 HOURS THERE AND WHEN WE GOT THERE THEY TOLD US IT WAS CANCELD... WE HAD TO DRIVE ALL THE WAY HOME... BUT SHE WAS SUPOSE TO BE THE INSTRUCTOR... THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN KOOL ! BUT MAYBE SHE WILL BE THERE... ONE OTHER RUMOR I HEAR IS THAT MCGRATH IS RACING !! IF SO GREAT ! GOOD LUCK TO ALL ! C-YA AT CENTRAL !!

hey Paul I thought the latest issue of Moto Sports was awesome. The interviews with Tony and the Verackas were cool - I liked the layout/setup of them. All the pics were real sweet too. great job..

Hey thanks for the feedback everyone, I'll try to use some of these ideas in the next issue. Should I let Jack write a collum? What's everyone think? Anyone who sent me their address should be getting a mag in the mail soon. If you don't e-mail me your address again and I'll make sure you get the next one.

paul, jacks column would be amusing, but you'd probably need a parental advisory. -doug
