I think Bill Berry's drum beats are one of a kind. I have never seen any band use the drums so much E.G Orange Crush, Belong, Disturbance at the Heron House etc. Would you agree that the drum beats are the icing on the cake for REM's songs they are fantastic.

Yeah, also R.E. is using a lot of percussions really nowhere in "modern music", like the guiro. It's great.
