O.T. Great Role Model for Hypocrites

On her show, Schlessinger lashes premarital sex, divorce, cohabitation, pregnancy out of wedlock, and pornography, and condemns those who engage in such activities as "sluts," "dummies," and worse.

But over the past few years, thanks largely to Vanity Fair and an unauthorized biography, damaging story after damaging story has trickled out about Schlessinger.

She's a divorcee.

She carried on an affair with a married father and eventually broke up his marriage.

Then she lived with him for years before they married.

She got pregnant before they married.

She posed for nude photographs.

She talks nonstop about the importance of honoring parents and family, yet has not spoken to her own mother or sister for 15 years.

Her life, in short, is full of the weakness and venality she condemns in her callers. Schlessinger says she's not a hypocrite because all her sins are in the past.

A hypocrite is someone who says, "Do as I say, not as I do," she says, but "somebody who says, 'Do as I do, not as I did,' is a teacher."

It sounds like you have a crush on her.

-- Am I right? (bet@I.am), May 28, 2000.

I've been amused at how folks defend this woman. Did she get a child out of that pregnancy, BTW? I've wondered if she even had children when I've read what she's written on how others should raise them.

Bartcop has ALL the scoop on Dr. Laura [including her pictures.] I wonder when he will bring Ann Coulter [Dr. Laura wannabee] into his "unfoldings."

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 28, 2000.

Sounds like she could be an agent provocateur. I would not be surprised. Very slick.

-- KoFE (your@town.USA), May 28, 2000.

Like Rush Limbaugh, there are probably more people listening to the show who love to hate her than those who actually like her. I wouldn't be suprised if her whole show is a staged "Jerry Springer" type of setup. I find it hard to believe the people that call in just sit there and allow themselves to be insulted by that bitch.

-- Hawk (flyin@hi.again), May 28, 2000.

Dr Laura has an obnoxious tone. I don't enjoy listening to her. That doesn't mean I disagree with her. Just because she has changed her views and has changed her behavior doesn't make her a hypocrite. All it means is that she has changed and she admits it. Ever hear of growth?

She has become religious (Judaism, her background) and she IS a parent. Whether the child was conceived in wedlock, I don't know. The important thing is she got married and stayed married. The kid has a father, a good father. One of her catch phrases is "I am my child's mom"---meaning of course that parenting is her highest priority.

Now, "take on the day".

-- Lars (lars@indy.net), May 28, 2000.

I do not care for Schlessinger's tone of voice, but her definition of a hypocrite is correct. Some of you need to read the last sentence of shadow's post, for it's quite obvious you do not know the meaning of the word hypocrite.

The article itself is of course a hatchet job, for one thing Schlessinger's "nude pictures" were supposedly private, but sold by someone for money and published against here wishes. But in a hatchet job, to heck with the facts, eh? ;)

No angel, Schlessinger, nor are we.

Hawk:

That is a tough one to answer. Sort of like why you posted for a while on EZboard. :^)

Find the answer to one and you will have the answer to the other.

Best wishes,,,,,

Not too long ago, someone posted a comment about Drudge (whom I check out at least once a day) that he would sodomize his own mother if he thought it would make a headline, or get him noticed. And I believe this is true.

While this woman Schlissinger may not have the equiptment for sodomy (but then who knows) I believe she is in the same catagory.

Here's a vile, vicious woman who would and will say anything for a buck.

Also, I've read that she isn't a "doctor" of anything and that it's an assumed title.

Only the gods know what she did to whom to get this tv show. Hope they all enjoyed it, if you catch my drift. Ugh!

-- Richard (Astral-Acres@webtv.net), May 28, 2000.

Hey fuck off Z, you sure are an arrogant asshole with your fricking red type. If you recall, I LEFT EZ board after I was insulted, and haven't posted their since, so fuck you!

-- Hawk (flyin@hi.again), May 28, 2000.

Good to see the ol' Hawk back

Best wishes,,,,,

-- Z1X4Y7 (Z1X4Y7@aol.com), May 28, 2000.

Yeah, and you can suck my cock too dipshit! Why don't you get your facts straight before you start criticizing others?

-- Hawk (flyin@hi.again), May 28, 2000.

Hawk:

No criticism intended . Just an observation. You don't need to be so touchy.

Best wishes,,,,

-- Z1X4Y7 (Z1X4Y7@aol.com), May 28, 2000.

Ha! "No criticism intended". That's a laugh!

You remind me of the arrogant egomaniac Andy Ray with your fucking inuendo, stupid winking smiles, and your sarcastic "Best Wishes" crap. If you don't learn to show some respect for other people's opinions, you might as well shove your "Best Wishes" up your snobby asshole, because they don't mean jack.

-- Hawk (flyin@hi.again), May 28, 2000.

You will need to do better. Flint has called me worse than that [not to mention what Ed called me]. Unfortunately, I have to leave for a meeting soon or we could continue this discussion.

Best wishes, <

Maybe someone should try to get Dr. Laura and Gary North on the same show!

-- Flash (flash@lots.of.sparks.would.fly), May 28, 2000.

Good riddens Z! Hope your plane crashes! :-)

Why don't you practice your html while you're gone too.

Best Wishes,,, ;-)

-- Hawk (flyin@hi.again), May 28, 2000.

Hawk:

You are fun to talk too. I will practice that stupid < /b > while on the road. Not flying this time. I'm now in God's country; Iowa. I must drive across the state. Will do some mountain climbing between meetings and, perhaps, spend some time at the beach.

Cheers,

-- Z1X4Y7 (Z1X4Y7@aol.com), May 28, 2000.

Now, what was the topic again?

-- Richard (Astral-Acres@webtv.net), May 28, 2000.

Iowa is "God's country"?? Haahaahaahaa!! That's a good one. You're on the wromg side of the Missouri my friend. Go West, young man. The country over here makes Iowa look like a cesspool.

-- Hawk (flyin@hi.again), May 28, 2000.

"I am my child's mom" is just a way to refer to yourself three times in one sentence.

-- Tarzan the Ape Man (tarzan@swingingthroughthejunglewithouta.net), May 28, 2000.

Hawk:

The Missouri is a complicated steam. Don't know what on the wrong side of the Missouri means. My family is in the Northwest. We have lived much of our lives in Colorado and Montana; with time in California, Alaska, etc. Sort of western folks.

Can't agree with your assessment of Iowa. It is great. You haven't taken the time to look it over. Some of the most beautiful land in the country is in Nebraska. Nothing is like the sand hills in the spring.

My guess is that your assessment of the country comes from a yuppie travel guide.

You should get out more and see for yourself. On second thought, forget what I said. We have too many tourists now.

Cheers,,,,

-- Z1X4Y7 (Z1X4Y7@aol.com), May 28, 2000.

Hawk:

My point is that places like Yosemite are already trashed. They are Disneyland, compared to when I first met them. Let's keep diverting the general population to those places. Let's hide places like Greer's spring, the Ruby range, the Sand Hills, and other such places.

If we are going to increase the population at this rate, let them think that nature's finest is a theme park and keep them away from the real places.

Sarcastically yours,

-- Z1X4Y7 (Z1X4Y7@aol.com), May 28, 2000.

Sorry Z, if you don't even know which side of the Missouri River Iowa is on, then I can't help ya. Sounds like you could use a yuppie travel guide. :-)

-- Hawk (flyin@hi.again), May 28, 2000.

Hawk:

Yeah, it is on the right side; from where I stand.

While I am in Iowa, I actually live in Missouri, now-a-days. While I hesitate to say this, Missouri has a large portion of the free flowing, cold rivers in the US. Trout and small mouth bass, etc. Great floating. They are fed by these enormous springs. Water runs at 4 C all summer. That is the upside. The downside is that people are learning about it. Too many tourists.

Hawk, don't pass this along.

Best wishes,,,,

-- Z1X4Y7 (Z1X4Y7@aol.com), May 28, 2000.

Z,

Actually, keeping folks out of Iowa might not be a bad idea. It's been a while, but I remember reading an article about Iowa having "living relic" flora still thriving in some of the hills. Supposedly, those "living relics" came from the last ice age, about 10,000 years ago.

Definitely not a good place for Junior to be pulling up daisies...

-- Deb M. (vmcclell@columbus.rr.com), May 28, 2000.

Z,

Can you e-mail me please, if you get a chance? I've got a few questions to ask you about Missouri. Seriously, please. E-mail addy is real. Thx!

ROFLMAO, Dang Hawk, don't let Z yank your chain like that, we're all going blind from his colorized html.

My program is not staged, not rehearsed, my guests are real people..and furthermore provides invaluable insight in the common every day persons problems and answers and solutions to same...

Wow Z, a beach in ...Iowa? I've just gotta get that old atlas back out...hmmm...Pacific....Atlantic maybe?

-- FactFinder (FactFinder@bzn.com), May 28, 2000.

Sure wish you two would hush about Missouri and Iowa.I live 90 miles north of Kansas City (20 miles from Iowa). We have enough problems with the local yuppie wannabees and their Urban Assault Vehicles without bringing in the tourists.

Bottem line, Dr. Laura cares about kids.

-- -- -- (littleant@kicker.com), May 29, 2000.

watching, "Sleepless in Seatle" right now.

I think the movie is about the boy.

Not what parent "does who"

Of course she, Dr. Laura has a voice that is nasty and people don't want to listen too.

I often disagree with her manner, but not her message.

Listen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-- -- -- (whybotherant@kicker.com), May 29, 2000.

"Bottem line, Dr. Laura cares about kids."

I see no evidence of this. She mostly just tells callers how stupid they are, but rarely gives any advice about how to raise kids. If she really cared about kids, she would try to set a better example by being a decent human being for a change.

-- What a JAP (she's always rude, insensitive, @ and. a sadistic power maniac), May 29, 2000.

Hawk said this and Z said that. I say Hawk should meet with Z in a sort of um wilderness somewhere and beat the best wishing shit out of him.

All in favor say I?

-- Lil Shadow (Lil Shadow@dontknows.org), May 29, 2000.

Bottom line; Dr Laura is a Nazi hypocrite asshole with prune titties.

-- Uncle Deedah (unkeed@yahoo.com), May 29, 2000.

I am glad the people in my life let me evolve. Isn't that the premise of this board lately?

So a woman who knows better "now" made mistakes in her youth.

Listen to the show and you (we)(who? I don't know) could learn something.

People who speak in absolutes are often judged on their manner rather than their message. Male or female they sound shrill.

Unk, Have you seen her tities?

-- -- -- (ant@kicker.com), May 30, 2000.

Yes

-- Uncle Deedah (unkeed@yahoo.com), May 30, 2000.

Titties? Tities?

Is their a correct spelling? Or only size?

I have noticed some people here are stuck on spelling. I don't want to be politicly incorrect.

-- -- -- (ant@kicker.com), May 30, 2000.

Unk,

Hot damn! Good for you....

unless you were repulsed?

Why? The physical appearance of said breasts or the messanger that owns them?

-- -- -- (ant@kicker.com), May 30, 2000.

Both, with an emphasis on the latter.

-- Uncle Deedah (unkeed@yahoo.com), May 30, 2000.

Mr. Unk, You won!!!!

There is aman (amen) in the house!

I just want to have fun!

-- -- -- (ant@kicker.com), May 30, 2000.

Hey Unc, you're getting kinda horny in an almost manly kinda way, time to shave your nuts again! :-)

-- Hawk (flyin@hi.again), May 30, 2000.

Hawk,

Don't cry bovado with such a small size? Your own?

Should you want to know!!! WHY!!!

Responsibility. Questionable!

Who ownes the hat?

Challenge ?

WHY???????????????????????????/

-- -- -- (ant@kicker.com), May 30, 2000.

OOPS Hawk,

It is too late.

Sorry!

Come out and play tomarrow because you are so fun!

Or don't!????

Good nite! Unk!

-- -- -- (ant@kicker.com), May 30, 2000.

Hawk,

Am I going to have to come back and give you a refresher course? Mind you manners big boy or I'll call your mama! Time for all the big, tall bounty hunters to be tucked into in their beddies.

-- Remeber Me? (yourreflection@mirror.com), May 30, 2000.

Hawk and Unk.

Chicken???

I only look in here about once a week.

Still have T.P. 6mo's later....

I hold the position Dr. Laura is right in her message but not her tone of voice.

-- -- -- (ant@kicker.com), May 31, 2000.

Are you happy yet?

Kiss your WHAT!??
