Message board idea

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread

I'm just wondering about the possibility of MARP switching to using those Emulation World message boards (like Retrogames, Zophar's Domain, etc...). I guess those are just my preference, already having an account (one account for all Emu World messageboards). I just wondering about any reasons for or against it. Don't think this has been asked before, but my apologies if it has.

it hasn't been asked, but what are the advantages and disadvantages of doing so, beside the fact that it'll make your life easier :)

Well, for one, it looks much nicer... One of the main things is that one user account is usable across all Emulation World messageboards. Of course, HTML can be used (if the board moderator allows it) or basic markup (for those who don't know HTML) to add images, links whatever. Have a look at one of the EW boards (retrogames, Zophar's, Emucamp...)

Personally, if you really want a nice message board system, you should set up an Ultimate Bulletin Board system by Infopop. This is probably the best web based forum system available on the internet today. I believe there is a free version for download at www.infopop.com that is fully functional, minus a few of the advanced features.
