need plans for moveable shelter for sheep

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I am looking for plans for a three sided shelter for sheep that was built on skids to be moved by a tractor. I had a set of plans and pictures designed by Jack Kelly of Lafayette, New York. He had Horned Dorset sheep for 40+ years and than retired and moved to Florida, I believe. If anyone has a set of these or something similar, please let me know. Kate, N.Y.

We're getting ready to build a skiddable shelter, so if you can't find the plans, please post or email me, and I'll tell you what we design and build. However, if someone else can post the plan you mention, that would be a real bonus! Save board (drawing and sawing) time!

Kate, I've never heard of Kelly's plans, but if you can't find them, try asking at your county extension agent's or at the library for movable pig shelters. I don't know how big the sheep shelter is, but the pig shelters are sized either for a sow and piglets, or for a group of young pigs. Not terribly tall, but you probably aren't planning on getting in them very often. Gerbil

My brother is making moveable pig pens, but I'm not exactly sure how they're going to look. I too would be interested in the moveable sheep pen/shed!!!

I have plans for portable calf shelters. One is 8'x 8" the other is 19' x 12'. (This one I used for my horse's shelter.) Now the bad news, I don't know how to post these plans. Computer illiterate. I've been trying to send family pictures forever. Anyway, I did get these plans from my county extention.(Fig. 5-23 & 5-25 if that could help) They were a great help to me. Even admitted I was asking normal questions after a while. Maybe I can figure out how to send in the meantime.
