greenspun.com : LUSENET : New England Motocross Racing : One Thread

Over the last few weeks I have seen a lot of feedback on the frustrations created by the NESC and some of the tracks. Let's use this thread to itemize each and every thing that we want to change and how that change should be made. The riders are the customer's and they deserve to be treated with respect and to be supplied with a good product. KEEP THIS ONE GOING. if you have friends with email access have them put in their 2cents............EVERYONE HAS SOMETHING TO GAIN FROM THIS........

I agree, but you need to be clean about the whole thing, dont use bad lanuage, that just makes us motocross guys look stupid ! The NESC does look at my page on a regular basis. they know I get over 200 hits a day here and that people talk ! big time...(dont start rumors) I can monitor and delete threads so please keep that in mind. I do expect to see Peggy Belore to be Posting on this topic real soon ! Go gett'em PEG ! Thanks Dave Daylor

Okay Dave, I'm posting. Getting confrontational with any club isn't going to help and all clubs have their problems. NESC has grown and maybe outgrown some of their ways of operating. I strongly support feedback and it could be compiled and presented to the NESC. Let's not stoop to below the belt hits but keep things business-like. The first thing we could do is ASK to elect our own Rider Reps. Maybe put a ballot on the newsletter. Hey, you could nominate ME.... I have no vested interest other than loving the sport and the riders. I also have a fairly good understand of the background info none of the riders get to hear. A question and answer column in the newsletter could start the communication chain going. AND remember... you don't have to be a customer of the NESC, there are other places to ride and efforts to form another organization are close to materializing.

peggy you have my vote!!! i feel you would be perfect and listen to us as riders and friends so where do i vote.... i hope if they do put a ballot on the news letter they put it there for a couple of weeks because i am not putting up with nesc every week until things get better maybe dave can put a ballot on this site (by the way dave you are doing a great job with this site)i went to jolly rogers last week and they even payed amatures for top five finishes i love that place they care about the riders

Here are some of my suggestions.

An Amateur rider should need 120 points to make expert, 60 points is just not enough. Having riders earn an extra 60 points will better prepare them for the expert class.

If a rider starts an amateur championship series he should be able to finish it, then move up to expert after the series is over (as long as he's got the points) lots of riders have pointed out of championship series while leading and lots of riders have won championships by going slow enough to score some championship points but not any promotional points.

There should be a Pro class and an expert class. Any new expert would would still be called an expert but the riders who have made it to a top ten in an expert championship or who are nationally ranked would be a pro rider. The experts and the pros would ride in the same moto, but would be scored separately. So a new expert could finish 13th (a pretty respectable finish unless you're his buddies at school who think 13th sucks) overall in the pro/expert moto but win the expert class. He gets experience with the fast guys, Barton, Tread, Snap etc. and gets the glory of winning his class. If that new expert was fast enough to crack the top ten then he would take home some cash as well as his expert trophy. A promotional points system would work to advance riders from expert to pro. Splitting up the class works great in the Vet and Youth classes so it should work in the expert class too.

Let's see, other ideas? Well the signup lines are too long, the tracks need more help at least for the Spring time races (It will slow down come July)

A NESC practice track? well where would be a fair location? Bangor, Maine, Carver Massachusetts, Agawam, Massachusetts? The NESC population is too spread out over New England to open up a practice track.

Longer motos and cheaper entry fees? A bazillion riders show up and you either turn some away or run extra heats and hope you don't have to cut motos

I would like to say that i agree with u paul about points in the amt, class if u are a youth A u cant win a amt, championship with out slowing down in the moto and then when u do that u get called a sandbagger. When u turn youth A u get 30 points as a amt towards expert that means when u are in the amt class u anly need 30 paints and u are expert..I like the leter scott carter wrote ....JEREMY#496
