My recordings: a new chapter

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread

I've been told some of my latest recordings don't playback, such as growl and growlu (but runark does). Chad suggested me to delete the corresponding .nv files, because that could have been the reason I'm the only one where these .inp work. So, where's the problem? I checked out the /nvram directory but I found out there were no growl.nv and growlu.nv files at all! So why these two don't playback while runark does (confirmed)? Sincerely, I don't know. I guess I'll be back playing Super Mario RPG with that SNES emu :)

your runark played back because it was win36 not win37b2. i hope this one you are sending playsback... you're right growl and their clones doesn't create an nvram file.

i'm assuming you're recording with sound. and another thing, are you recording with unnofficial win37b2, official win37b2 or mameEMU+37b2 or mame32Lang+37b2? i'll bet some won't playback if recorded with a different one that you playback with, so if you're not using the official win37b2 you need to say so in the description... you should make recordings with official win36 if possible, because that could be why your previous runark was confirmed. however, i was able to playback your current upload to 49100 with mame32lang+37b2 with sound. which is cool, i got to hear the girl say, "blah blah, you suckers!" :)

I use Mame32Lang+, I don't konw if the language switched to Italian may affect in any way my recordings, who knows... Anyway, BBH says growl and growlu work fine without sound, so I'll do like him.

It's not the italian :) it's just the version that they have compiled. bbh is also using official versions of mame, if you want to make me happy you could use win36 with out sound. it's too bad this thing doesn't playback with sound fully, i enjoy hearing the animal torturers yell things.

Well Chad I have made a new recording of Growl (beating BBH's score for 200 points!), using this time MAME32 v. 0.36 final (that is, the last official version) with sound turned on. Too bad I didn't make it to the boat!
