I have (and am selling) a Vivitar 100mm f/3.5 macro lens for my Nikon N90. I was wondering if this lens is a "D" lens for Nikon flash systems.

The Vivitar / Phoenix 100mm macro is not a D lens.

On the other hand, the D system isn't too important working at macro distances.

It's a pretty sharp lens for the money, I've found. I often carry it as a backup, general purpose lens [unless I KNOW I'm going to need something wide or very long]. Just last week it saved me on a portrait shoot when the focusing screw on my main lens failed. Great results.
