EZ Board has more interesting messages! BY FAR!

That's for sure! Just have a look at one of the most heavily-read threads here which has had 438 "views" so far. And why wouldn't it, when it includes such gems as this. . .

The royalty that has become the congress (and most other elected officials) will ultimately face the music. Do your preps include enough rope?

and the response:

Why waste the rope? At 18 cents a round, 1 round of 9mm would serve the same purpose, and you wouldn't soil your rope.

and how about this guy:

Snoozebutton, diane feindstine and charley shummer, should be horse whipped, and burnt at the stake.

And heaven help anyone who disagrees!!!

The colonists also had their weak minded amongst them. They named these swine Tories. Remember who the traitors are and save up the roofing and driveway tar. We are going to have one hell of a hair cutting party when this is over!

Oh yes, a much higher class. Would you like some crumpets with your tea? LOL

-- (hmm@hmm.hmm), May 20, 2000.

Good point. With some careful shopping, you can get your 9mm rounds down under 11 cents each.

-- Flint (flintc@mindspring.com), May 20, 2000.

Snoozebutton, diane feindstine and charley shummer, should be horse whipped, and burnt at the stake.

Seems to me that if one wants to have a *credible argument* (I can dream, can't I?) one should learn to SPELL the names of those one wishes to horse whip and burn at the stake.

Funny how virulent small minds can get when they perceive a "threat" to their pathetic lives.

This one should be careful what s/he wishes on others.....because it will come back to him/her three-fold.

Hey, I'm paying $22 for a box of 9's! I'm getting ripped off!

-- kritter (kritter@adelphia.net), May 20, 2000.

This board can be silly at times.

But the EZboard is much sillier.

And this board is a lot more open to different views.

-- (retired@nd.happy), May 20, 2000.

Oh yes, a much higher class. If they weren't such cowards, EZ board might actually be an effective breeding ground for the Unabombers of the new millenium. Paranoia, Hate, Racism, Bigotry, and the "I am a victim of everyone but myself" mentality. Veeeery intelligent. Please, don't let us stop you... feel free to join them as often as you like. :-)

-- Hawk (flyin@hi.again), May 20, 2000.

Ninny, nanny, boo-boo...

Well I've heard that on SOME boards, the snappy retort:

"Your Mother wears Army boots!"

is taken as a COMPLIMENT!

-- flora (***@__._), May 20, 2000.

Hey Kritter you should be able to get 9mm rounds[50 Count} for $10.00 or even less. Try Cheaper Than Dirt, and they have a choice.

-- rott (rott @rott.com), May 20, 2000.

Is this what it boils down to, Forum Wars? Count me out.

-- ThreePoh (crayonboy@zanata.opg), May 20, 2000.

I suggest we have a meeting between the members of the two forums in order to iron out our differences. We could hold it at some neutral location and turn it into a picnic of sorts. Food, soft drinks and lots of beer. I'll even supply the "facilities"...

-- Peg (pegmcleod@mediaone.net), May 20, 2000.

ROFL CD! Proof that Uncensored is "higher class". I love the poetic imagery of Uncensored s***ting on EZB's head.

Consumer, poop goes down, you sure you wanna use the lower level?

-- Picture (worth@thousand.words), May 20, 2000.

I knew that some people at EZ were "shit-heads," and now I can see why!

-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), May 20, 2000.

Dallas Reloading Service sells 9mm rounds for $105 per case (1000). That's $5.25 for 50 rounds, but you gotta buy in 10,000 round lots to get that price. Get your friends to go in with you.

No, they ain't Hydra-Shoks, but hell, these are only politicians, right?

Who needs friends? 10,000 rounds should just about do it for me!

I stopped visiting EZboard a very long time ago, so I have no opinion on the intrinsic "class" of its posts. But given the site's user unfriendliness (maybe it should be renamed "PUboard"), it would be hard for that site to deliver as much "class" per lurk time as this one does.

"If an insightful post is written but nobody reads it, is it considered enlightening?"

-- David L (bumpkin@dnet.net), May 20, 2000.

"If an insightful post is written but nobody reads it, is it considered enlightening?"

If no one reads the post, who is it that labels the post 'insightful'? 'Insightful' is after all an adjective & not inherent in every post.

-- Bingo1 (howe9@shentel.net), May 20, 2000.

Bingo1,
I agree with what I think you're saying, that a post's insightfulness from the perspective of the reader is subjective. I had in mind a definition based on what facts were known to the poster, which could be applied in the abstract even if the post were destined to remain unread.

I trust that you did not post that answer merely to contribute to this forum's class. 8^)

-- David L (bumpkin@dnet.net), May 20, 2000.

Hey CD,

Admit it. The only reason that you built the second story, was because the ground level suite was full .. ....

-- Sysman (y2kboard@yahoo.com), May 21, 2000.

"If an insightful post is written but nobody reads it, is it considered enlightening?"

Question:Could it mean that the supposed insightful post that no-one posted to was not considered enlightening.

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), May 21, 2000.

capnfun,
Yes it could mean that. However, I am quite confident that on the occasions where my own posts draw no response, it is because their brilliance and stunning clarity are so striking that to reply would be like painting a moustache on filet mignon.

-- David L (bumpkin@dnet.net), May 21, 2000.

Some hair on a fine steak you harp,

You claim that your words are so sharp.

But on closer inspection,

To offer reflection,

Would be like dressing-up a dead carp!

* Please forgive me David but I could not resist your last sentence.

-- Ra (tion@l.1), May 21, 2000.

I took a quck look on sleazy this morning and I see they are still banging the same drum: "Y2K could still be bad", "We're likely to have an economic meltdown before July "What about those embeddeds?"

This, mixed in with their usual hatred of gays, Jews, foreigners, Democrats and Gubmint means all is well in the land of censorship. Higher class indeed...

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 21, 2000.

David,

You're right: The EZBoard structure/design is atrocious.

Yourdon's design sense is on a par with his understanding of Y2K.

-- (retired@nd.happy), May 21, 2000.

Lol Anita!

Here's a good one if the Mormons keep coming around bothering you. My brother told them that he had a lot of respect for their religion, but he simply loved beer, and wasn't willing to give it up. They gave up very quickly and moved on down the road. :-)

-- Hawk (flyin@hi.again), May 21, 2000.

Hawk:

Mormons don't drink beer? Actually, I thought it was the Seventh Day Adventists who did the door-to-door stuff. I'm a pacifist when it comes to folks ringing my doorbell. I look outside and if I don't know who they are, I simply don't answer, or look them in the eye through the window on the door and walk back into the house.

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 21, 2000.

No problem, Ra. I'd intended that sentence to be irresistable. 8^)

-- David L (bumpkin@dnet.net), May 21, 2000.

LOL David,quite witty today.

Ra,goodern'.

The Mormon/??? people that come to the door brings a now funny story to mind.

Right after my wife passed away thaese people were emphatic to talk with me,I talked to them once and told them I was not interested, that I just wanted to be left alone. It did not seem to sink in as they proceeded to show up at my door at all hours of the day, multiple times a day.I was getting tired of hiding when I saw them coming up the long driveway and feeling as if I were being stalked.

So one early morning (8ish) hearing the Newfoundland barking, looked out the window to see a group of them out on the porch.I decided to answer the door(evil grin) remaining in the buff with 'morning wood' and Budweiser in hand standing next to VERY large dog, then proceeded to ask if they wanted to come sit a spell.

I have never in my life seen them peddle faster than that morning and guess what? not one more single visit.

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), May 21, 2000.

We could start a whole new thread on the impact on society of the "morning wood." [Damn it, Lilith...get your OWN computer.]

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 21, 2000.

Anita,

This I gotta hear!!! "the impact on society of the "morning wood."Do you have a theory or such on this topic? falling out of chair, bumping my noggin', rolling on floor hysterically.

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), May 21, 2000.

I say we let Lilith have her way with Anita so she can enlighten us all on this theory.

-- Debra (!!!!@!!!!.com), May 21, 2000.

Lilith,

Come out, come out wherever you are!!!

You have some splainin' to do,please, pretty please: )

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), May 21, 2000.

Anita...don't fight her. Just lean back, relax...and everything will be ok. We promise.

-- eve (eve_rebekah@yahoo.com), May 21, 2000.

capnfun's story...

To the tune of the Beatles' "Norwegian Wood"

I heard there were folks going around spreading their Word
They finally reached my neighborhood, as well they should

They came to my door and recited their sermon so deft
But I was unmoved so they graciously smiled and left

They kept coming back, faces sublime, wasting my time
I tried to look bored, as if to say, please go away

So one day I roundly decided that I'd had enough
I answered the door and their eyes beheld me in the buff

I could not recall when I saw last, folks walk so fast
Now, my turn to smile, isn't it good, my morning wood

-- David L (bumpkin@dnet.net), May 22, 2000.

LOL!! Superb!!
