Camping areas near Bull Run

These are all near the track. Just race Sunday, that would have more of an impact. Suggest to Yvonne to donate his "camping fee" to Jim Psaledas #89. Just put it out there, write it up, go to Staples make a couple hundred copies and put him on the defensive.

Diamondback is running 5/28 and so is Mt. Morris National. I can ask and see if Diamondback will run an open practice on 5/29 .. and they DON'T CHARGE FOR OVERNIGHT CAMPING.

Walden's race this weekend is being Video taped with Pizza and a recap of the races Saturday night on a big screen TV!!! Go to District 34, Walden, Diamondback & Ace Rule. Claverack is running this Sunday.

One more campground cobbosseecontee lake, closest to BR, they have a hot tub and two swimming pools 1-800-870-6189 Forget hotels, it's graduation weekend so if you haven't booked a reservation you will probably have a tough time now finding a vacancy.

You know before everyone gets all p-oed Does anyone reall know if Yvon is charging a camping fee? All we have to go on is Jenn saying that she heard he was... well everyone knows how rumors start, like at Central a lady came over to me and said "They're doing a trach on that guy" (they weren't, but it was pretty scarey to think a medic was cutting a hole in one of my friend's neck.). Let's give the guy a break, sure he's no diplomat, he'll even tell you that, but he does work pretty darn hard to make Bull Run a nice place to go for a weekend.

If you call yelling constantly at everyone all weekend and acting like a jerk 99.9% of the time you are at the track in Maine working hard at giving everyone a good time then he wins the prize. You better hope if you need a medic that they actualy are paying enough attention to the races to see that you need help and they don't drop you if they do come to help. One other point is he should have more flaggers on that track but i guess that would mean spending more $$$$.

Paul, I totally agree that it should be confirmed. I tried calling the track a couple times (the number in the book) and haven't reached anyone yet. BUT, I also think it would be nice to know ahead of time. Is there anyway you could find out? Will it be in the newsletter? Posting camp sites gives people the opportunity to book a site ahead of time; they can always cancel. Why is there so many hard feelings around NESC? It's just not the web site? Yvonne is pleasant other than at the races. Maybe he's totally stressed race days. People are customers and deserve respect for their ideas and opinions. Why does everything have to be so confrontational... Lack of communication. Secrecy breeds suspicion. No one likes to be wrong or told they are wrong and most people try very hard to do their best, whatever that happens to be. I think everyone would really benefit if they had a real riders meeting between the board and riders. Air the issues in a controlled business manner and get an explanation. You know me and you know I love the races and the riders. We all have our faults. What other sport do you have such commraderie? AND you know I'd do anything within my ability to help ANY club and any rider. But I'll tell ya, I am actually reluctant to offer that, your afraid to even ask. How do you even initiate a communication channel?

I WAS the lady (unless their were two of us), who thought that guy was being trached. They had the plastic hose out and they were all working on him, opening an airway certainly seemed like what they were preparing to do. That's when I walked away. He did end up okay. He broke his collarbone. And it's people like the Papoons who can be thanked for helping fellow riders. They watched their children, loaded their camper and trailer, drove out of their way to get everything to the hospital, brought them food and stayed until they were sure he was okay before driving home to Maine themselves. Now that is the true spirit of people caring and helping people. Actually, I just had an idea.... a Random Act of Kindness column for your magazine.

At another club, people could ask questions, the board would answer them and the information was published in the newsletter. It was so helpful and once the why's were answered by the people in charge with all the info and details it eliminated the pit gossip and complaining. At Walden's people can ask questions and board members log on and answer them.

I dread it when things are unpleasant. People only have the weekend to go out and enjoy themselves, you'd like to hear them say "I had a really good time". One of my biggest faults is I care too much, I enjoy people. So I say things others are afraid to say. And I'm sure I'll suffer some consequence but principal, ethics, and honesty are more important to me than the consequence. I'd prefer being part of the solution to a problem than part of the problem.

I will try and call tomorrow. We should know if this is true in advance. No one likes to have a question un answered... I know I don't like feeling obligated. I am more concerned for the out of stater's as I am here in Maine, I can get there in the morning without so much travel. I would like to see a donation from the entrance fee's or the riders fee's go to help the family, NESC should help support in the time of need. The local track up here in Maine " Skowhegan Moto-cross" has made many donations to support the riders of the track who race there, and they are a "Out law " back yard type track. I don't think it would put NESC too far back in the pocket book.

The NESC has an un-written policy (since '99) to donate $10,000. to a rider suffering a big injury at a NESC race like Mike's. I'll check with Lenny Monroe to see if this figure is accurate and let everyone know if it's right.

I know I posted this elsewhere but it does pertane to the Bull Run issue here Yvon from Bull Run and Gil Stewrd from Schott's Harley's R U.S. have got together a promotion to save anyone who wants to stop by Harley's R U.S. (on Rt 202 on the way to the track) 5.00 off the price of admission and give them a FREE Harley Davidson hat. Just stop by the Buckley photo truck this Sunday at Middleboro to pick up a coupon (no you don't have to buy a photo.), then stop by Harley's R U.S. Friday or Saturday on your way to the track, have them validate the coupon, get a free hat and save FIVE bucks at the gate. Remember to pick up enough coupons for everyone you're going to the race with and then they all have to stop by and check out the new Harley's (they also sell Hondas and Yamahas so if you need some last minute parts you can kill two birds with one stone!)
