THE proprietor of a tuition centre in Taman Medan is concerned about the long-term implications of frequent power disruptions on her business.

RANI says she took over the centre a month ago and already she has had four power failures.

"Most of my students attend classes in the evenings and the disruptions are usually from 7pm to 10pm," she says, noting that the most recent power cut-offs were on May 8 and 9.

"I tried calling TNB but each time I get passed around and no one seemed to be able to help."

* Tenaga National Bhd's Petaling Jaya Business District manager Mohandas Nair says the blackouts were caused by a cable fault at the main intake sub-station in the area.

He says the disruption affected Kampung Medan, Kampung Penaga, Taman Desa Ria and surrounding areas.

"The problem has been rectified and we are closely monitoring the situation to ensure that disruptions do not recur."
