Hi Kathy,

We just purchased two new Amish made draft horse collars - leather, well packed, well made for 135.00/ea. A good rule tho is anywhere from 85.00 - 165.00. At least in our neck of the woods (the midwest)

Reading the responses to your question I was stunned at the prices listed. We live in Indiana. I have bought 4 or 5 collars from an Amish harness maker here. Either he is loosing a lot of money or the others listed are making a lot. I have never paid more than $55.00 for one. These are good collars with quick latch tops (but not adjustable, these would cost more).

Hope this helps and I'm sorry for your loss.

Cumberland General Store (1-800-334-4640) in Crossville Tennessee has them on p. 207 of their latest catalog. There are several styles ranging from $50 for a farm style collar to $227.40 for a "Farm and Logging Special". There are upcharges for additional inches in size, and tax and shipping, depending on where you live.

I have done business with this company and have found their products to be good and customer satisfaction was good also.

Good luck!

We bought brand new collars adjustable from Brodhead Collars (Amish) in southern Iowa and they ranged from $95 - $130/ea for the sizes we needed. When I had looked for new collars before, the prices were in the $200/ea range. Brodhead is one of the biggest collar makers around and I found them to be reasonable.
