Was Cherri = Mutha?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

From the Diane Squire thread:

I do not post under another name (Cherri--June 06, 1999)

http://www.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id= 000v3T

Note: Maybe yes... maybe no.

If you check the Debunker site--because they show each posters ISP codes--youll find Cherri and Mutha share the same one, slight variation. Also two separate moderators watched late one night, when VERY few were posting, myself included, the Recent Answers area.

We each, independently, just sat there hitting the Reload/Refresh button looking at the top thread at checked it, and the bottom of the thread, to see who posted the most recent comment... Mutha.

Wait a minute... hit Reload... new thread... Mutha.

Who gives a rat's ass? I see you're not man or woman enough to tell us who you are.

Oh like we really know you are Jim Cook?

Hey #### at least he has a name. You seem to change yours each time you post, wuz up with that....????

HA.

#####.......,

Well, first off, it's Cooke - with an "E". Secondly, it's my real name with a real e-mail. Thirdly, I could still give a rat's ass about who's alias is who's, including yours.

Since the moderators had access to the isp numbers (they are like addresses but not in the form of locality) they would have been able to tell if I and Mutha were using the identical number. If they were simular but with slight variation, then I would have had to log off, redial, post, log off redial and post for them to be different. As the last numbers change in mine whenever I log back on, then if they were showing my numbers consistantly the same and Mutha's consistantly the same (with the variation from each other) then I could not be Mutha, the odds of reclaiming the exact same dial up is too vast for both to have been me. It would appear we were posting around the same time but that does not make us the same.

Whats with the "witch-hunt" anyway? If I and Mutha were the same person what would the point to your post be anyway? That I lied about only posting under my own name? It would prove I am a lier? Why is that important for you to attempt to prove?

Why do you, personally, feel the "need" to discredit me?

You need to understand that Diane Liar is/was completely ignorant of how the internet works. Mutha explained why she and sherri had close to the same IP #'s on the now closed insidetheweb debunkers board.

Gawd, as an internet novice even I know that all it takes is one number to be different in an IP # to make it a different ISP all together! (for anyone who follwed close enough, you would see the difference between 230 and 232. Duh!)

Mutha even said she lived in an entirely diferrent city than sherri.

This is just one more example of what happens when clueless people get their hands on technology they don't understand! Fits right in with the doom view of y2k, doesn't it?

You folks are clueless. With an internet connection you can hop around to various machines and post from as many IP addresses as you have machines connected to the net, as I have done on more than one occasion. It's not 'rocket science' Cherri, or Mutha.

And just for Jim, I'll use a real name.

-- Jim Kooie (jkookie@hotmail.com), May 15, 2000.

Well, jeez, you could have at least spelled it the same way twice.

Yep, you're a real rocket scientist alright.

-- Jim Cooke (JJCooke@yahoo.com), May 15, 2000.

you would be amazed at how 'trolls' were actually the moderators of the old TB

-- hacker (who@peeked.at.their.moderator.forum), May 16, 2000.

No Cherri doesn't equal Mutha.

Hacker, how did you get in? Do you have the password? THAT would be some interesting reading there.

Share with the group now.
