Can anyone tell me what is the best CD media to use for making VCD's playable on the Sony DVP-S325 DVD player?

You can try all CR-R/CD-RW media you can get your hands on until you know them by heart but (tears) that Sony does not recognize ANY CD- R/CD-RW media. If you bought that yourself it would have been better had you thumbed first through all the previous entries in this forum under playing CD-R and a lot will be obvious to you. If you still can, return that Sony and get a Pioneer or Philips instead. If a lot of people do this, apart from Pioneer and Philips (and Konka, Apex, and Haier) all others will be coaxed and shoved into making their DVD set-tops CD-R/CD-RW friendly. It just doesn't make sense. Toshiba couldn't, or wouldn't comment on how in the world their DVD set-tops resolutely refuse to read recordable media, but their DVD-ROM drives, by sheer necessity, are able to.

I have the Sony DVP S560 and it plays CDR RW's with no problem. The problem with Pioneer is that if you put in a burned CD (CD-R or CD RW) it will hesitate and not play smoothly. I would stick with Sony. Thanks, Cale

I have also the Sony DVP-S325 Player. The Media I used was a CD-RW (noname) - but I tried severals till I found this "noname" one.

All of the CD-RW i have used, works.

The CD-R brands VIVASTAR and PRINCO works just fine aswell.
