911 service downed in Junction City

A computer glitch knocked out the 911
telephone emergency line between the
Central Lane County Communications Center
and Junction City for about 2= hours
Wednesday.

Beginning about 4 p.m., callers who needed
emergency assistance were unable to get
through to an operator, said US West
spokesman Brian Terrett.

Workers from US West, the local telephone
provider, were able to restore the
connection by 6:30 p.m.
