Anyone here about my age?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I learned of this forum and web site from backwoodshome.com from a response to a post I put on there. I will now ask it here. I am a 15, almost 16 year old, and just wonder if there are any other young people my age on here. They said there might be some on here, but I dont know. I am gonna look at the archives later, but right now I have to go to bed because it is my bedtime. BTW, I live close to St.Louis just in case someone else on here does. Well, see y'all.

Chris, sorry I can't even remember being your age as I'm early 50's! But I do want to welcome you! I hope you can find someone close to your age to have something in common with! If not , I'm new to this board & all have been very nice to me--I'm sure they will be nice to you also! Sonda in Ks.

After reading Gene Ward's comment, I figure I'm about the same age but welcome to the discussion group. Eagle

Yeah, Gene, but where would we be without dirt? Chris, I'm sure that some of us have children or even grandchildren your age. I've been told that I ACT 16 but am 44. So maybe some of us are still young at heart! :)

Chris,

What are your interests? I have an almost 16 year old daughter who spends her time mostly on ICQ, but can try to point her this direction if you have some common interests.

It's great to see young, interested minds that still work!! Welcome to this site!!! Regardless of age - stick around!! I have a 13 yr. old daughter who is involved in 4H and regularly checks in at www.showsteers.com and goes to the Q and A (question & answer board) Don't know what you are involved in but it has various ages there as well. She gets responces from kids and adults. Maybe you can give us your opinions or advice along the way!!

I knew there was a reason I came on here today!!! My computer blew up yesterday (dumping the ENTIRE memory!!!) so here I am on hubby's laptop (I DO NOT like this keyboard!!!). Thanks to Gene, I'm not feeling old anymore!! While I'm not exactly young, history class was well established by the time I came along!!!

Chris, from the sounds of it, you're probably the youngest here, but as you will find, opinions and suggestions are welcome from all, regardless of age. Welcome!!!

Gene, I tried to email you directly but couldn't get through. All your funny remarks has forced me to ask you if you used to teach chemistry at East Central High School in Tulsa? Our chemistry teacher was lovingly nicknamed Weird Ward. Denise Helt (Class of '78)

Hi Chris! I have granddaughters just about your age! But as an "old guy" , at least in your mind (OK, so in a lot of your minds!) I will tell you a little secret that I have learned in my (nearly) 6 decades. Chronological age is merely a convenient way of calculating how many years have passed since you were born. "Age" can be, and often is, an attitude! Have a good attitude and very many of us here are your friends, and will help you when asked. We will also ask your advice. Being 15 doesn't mean unknowledgeable, it only means your experience is less than some of us others. But I absolutely guarantee you know something that the rest of us don't! And we await your tutorage! I say this in all honesty: I have NEVER met a person who could not teach me something I didn't know! Remember that! And welcome! GL!
