Power failures blacked out more than 3,700 utility customers on the north end of the Northeast Heights late Sunday night, the Public Service Company of New Mexico reported.

A total of 2,081 customers lost power in the area bounded by Paseo del Norte on the north, San Antonio on the south, Holbrook on the east and Wyoming on the west, said Chandra Manning, PNM spokeswoman.

Another 1,636 customers were blacked out in the area bounded by Palomas on the north, Academy on the south, Holbrook on the east and Wyoming on the west, Manning said.

Power in both areas failed at 10:35 p.m., but the cause wasn't known late Sunday, she said.
