i herd some one at southwick say that you can buy a computer chip for 150 dollars and you just stick it on your helmet.so when you go across the finish line you have results in seconds.is it true

This CAN be true, assuming two very unlikley things. 1) that southwick (or any track in question) has a system to recieve the signals from your "chip".

2) that they would let riders have immeadiate access to this system and not just keep it to the scoring tower.

someday.... and when it comes ill sell ya all the chips!! :)

They have this in the AMA pro races. There is a pack on the bike that works it. At one of the supercross races Mike Larocco's came disslodged and jamed his steering in the timing whoops.

THAT WASN'T LAROCCO, IT WAS LARRY WARD.

John Dains of Impact Software Group Inc., 1250 Henderson Ave., Washington, PA 15301 724-228-7998, the developer of TRACKSIDE is the guy to contact. Two years ago he was trying to find a MX organization that would let him test our the chip (for free) and support the software. They've used it in marathons are car races; the question was withstanding mud, rain, etc. Loretta Lynn's used a similar program and could provide you with a print out of all your lap times too. I'll see if I can find the contact for that software.
