Elan, not Elan II or III

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

I just purchased a Elan, not the Elan II or III. Please advise of sites which have good information for this camera. Was it also called EOS50?

great camera. one of the quiestest i've ever used. lots of nice features. it was my first eos body.

the elan marketed as the eos 100 (100qd if with date back). the following two sites have some basic specs on the 100qd. also the photozone site have some user posts too... http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/index.html http://www.photozone.de

i guess the most valuable info you would need would be the custom function (cf) check out http://www.photozone.de/EOScf.htm#100

hope this helps...

There is no such thing as ElanIII. ElanII/E is also the EOS50/E.

Good camera. Nice feel. Just don't try to shoot sports or action with it. The shutter lag time is too great. (Lag time = time from when you push the button until the camera fires the shutter). I'm a sports guy and it just rankled me something fierce when I used it.

My late contribution to this thread. I own the original Elan (EOS 100) and here are my thoughts on the thing, for those interested:
