Vet available on the web

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Just used this service (free) and thought I would pass it on. This is a vet, who offers advice on the internet for free. He is located in the UK, but answers relatively quickly. I asked a question about a new mare, and he answered in a matter of hours. Might come in handy for goat/sheep questions when no one is available. He is located at tim@vetontheweb.com Jan

Thanks so much. My sister lives in China and this will be of tremendous help to her with her cat.

In the goat world a knowledgeable breeder is worth alot more than a vet, who only saw goats as necropsy subjects when their vet school was to cheap to let them necropsy cattle, to study the ruminet stomaches. (True story) I am blessed with a great compassionate gal Vet. Try Goatworld.com they have a great 911 list of goat folks, to call on or E-mail if you need something answered in a pinch! Vicki

Another free source of info is ATTRA (Alternative Technology Transfer for Rural Areas). They have a vet who answers questions. They can be reached at 1-800-346-9140. She is a sheep expert and raised them herself for years. Just say you have a livestock question. Kim
