Forgive me, that was wrong after all I just said prior to that I did not wish to be outed.

Can you delete this? Sorry.

I don't see a need to delete this, consumer. You show how quickly you cought your error. Could be valuable to someone who had same question.

Consumer:

I'm not at all interested in learning Manny's true identity. I'm not at all interested in learning yours either. Manny's kindof "growing on" me. He certainly exemplifies crassitude, yet shouldn't every forum have their token crass poster?

Ok, I set myself up for this one. I would apologize, but did that already.

Anita, I was pertaining to the 5000 Spams in new questions, since I have asked this to be deleted and OTFR has chosen not to, my next question is...

OTFR,

I asked it to be deleted. Why then are Manny's spams still here? I thought if we posted and asked for something we posted to be deleted, why can it not then be deleted?

There's also a labeling problem involved here. Were you originally asking if "manny" posted here with other handles, and if so what are those handles? To me, this seems more interesting knowledge than simply finding out that in "real life" Manny is Lucifer S. Beezlebub. I admit I was often curious on the old forum when someone started a thread attacking me, and 3 or 4 handles nobody'd ever seen before joined in, using almost the same words. I didn't really care to know anyone's real name, but I DID care whether these were all the same person attempting to "stuff the ballot box" and create the illusion of a one-person consensus.

I personally think Manny is the persona used by one of our younger posters when he's in a certain mood. And while we can speculate, I don't think the moderator should ever associate multiple handles with a single person. I don't believe the moderator *has* that information, only an IP address. And I'm not the only person who posts to the net from this particular computer.

Consumer:

I didn't realize OTFR was working overtime deleting 5000 spams. I've only seen perhaps one thread/day by Manny and a few responses in other threads.

Consumer:

I just backed up to NEW QUESTIONS and saw the feckless posts by Manny. It seems to be a test, IMO. He's not been shy about stating his feelings that Laura was receiving better treatment than he because folks feared Laura would spam the forum.

If you want this thread deleted, Consumer, *I* have no objection.

Anita,

Thanks for the understanding. I just dont want to see another replay of spamming which is IMHO not good.

Flint,

I mean no harm, just wanted to know if there are multiple persona's is all.

I do not/ever wish anyone to be 'outted' but if using multiple handles, I see your position and fwiw, I agree.

Did I just say that? Yep, guess i did.

Anita, I dont want to know who manny is as far as a personal level, just i remember when another sysop used to show us the multiples thats all. I respect privacy for anyone, but hey when it gets to the low-life level of spam attacks, fair game, again IMHO, not real name, just the multiples.
