Pentax 6x7 II SHOE??

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Pentax 67 SLR : One Thread

Anyone know of a third party or pentax workaround for the lack of inclusion of a cold shoe on the prism finder? Any info on attaching a cold shoe to the AE prism II finder would be extremely helpful.

I guess I have figured out how to use a (third party) TTL flash with the Pentax 67II without the need to attach the dedicated hot shoe handle. BTW, this also answers an earlier question asked under http://www.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=001pjU.

Looking at the following picture http://www.foto.pentax.de/produkte/systemzubehoer/infos_blitz_fc.html you will see that one needs a synchro-cable F and a hot shoe adapter F. The synchro cable F is available in 0.5m and 3m length and fits into the 5-pin socket of the camera. The hot shoe adapter F has a tripod socket which solves the problem of a missing third hand.

This combination should should deliver TTL flash metering with the Pentax 67II using any dedicated flash, e.g. the Pentax F-line or a Metz flash with SCA adapter 3701. Can anyone confirm this claim?

I currently consider purchasing this flash equipment. However, with all these adapters it really becomes an expensive addition. Therefore I would like to hear from experienced users if this setup works well in practice (e.g. are the connections between the cable and the camera on one side and the cable and the external hot shoe on the other side firm?).

Joachim,

I use Pentax 67 II with a synchro-cable F and a hot shoe adapter F together with METZ 40 MZ-3 and SCA adapter 3701. This set works fine. Your finding is ok.

Hi,

Thanks for the answers but I don't need ttl i just wanted a way to mount a hotshoe or some type of adapter to the pentax to fire radio slaves. There is no shoe of any type on the pentax 6x7 II (not even a cold one)

Where does the adapter F mount to on the pentax 6x7 II
