As contentious as ever you miserable f*****r ;)

If you think that they won't then I'd like to know what makes you think that...

I'm certain all of us on have no doubt at all about who is the biggest NE club...

You looking forward to a proper derby next season rather than taking points of the scousers?

To be honest Gav I have as much interest in Sunderland as I do in Charlton :-)

City eh? Hmmmm.....they're just sad but a real Derby is fun...doesn't matter where ya are in the league.

Id forgotten you existed you sad wind up merchant . Never mind , i thought that your lot excelled themselves in the competitions that really matter this season . Oh yeah well done on winning the Premiership , youve got a world beating side there alright : - ) What other BBS's have been keeping you entertained recently ?

We're bigger than SAFC now and I don't see any reason why that wil change. We'll also finish above them in the PL. This year was a year of two halves Brian. One half lasted a few weeks and the other for the remainder of the season.

PS. Had any contact with DD yet? Handed over the 100 quid?

Overachieving bunch of clodhoppers and thugs watched by neanderthals and managed by a primate? I should bloody hope not! Nobody sets their sites that low.

They'll get found out next season when they get some real injuries and defences have enough material on 'Munchkin' to study to mark him out of the game.

That coupled with our improvement will see them below us by some margin.

Someone made a comment to me the other day that the munchkin had not actually scored against any team that was in the top 5?? is this true? maybe it shows a lack of class on his part, if he can't score against those teams then surely no-one should be considering him for an England spot :))

Yep Gav. I heard that too. Now, remind me, what was it that was said about a "flat track bully"? KK knows where his salvation lies. AS will lead England in this sumer's tourney. PK will be lucky to go along for the ride.

I gave the Mackems the stats last week. In games against the top 5 Shearer has scored 7 this season and Munchkin has managed 5:

Team Munchkin Shearer
Man Utd 0 2
Arsenal 0 0 (but we'll see)
Liverpool 1 1
Leeds 2 4
Chelsea 2 0

Shearer also has 5 pens in the league (2 against Wednesday) to Munchkin's 6 which proves the lie about his being an old man who only scores from the spot. Needless to say these facts provoked some interesting, well-reasoned and intelligent responses (not) :-)

I'm actually quite disappointed at those Softie....can't you twist them somehow to make him look worse :))

My meaning of the word BIG is intensity, ambition and resources.

All I can say to you is what do you mean do you think you will be bigger than SAFC next season?

Sunderland have always been smaller because they dont have our intensity of our fan base (Biggest local catchment area in england similar SCALE to the catulunyans in spain).

They CANT match our ambition because they dont match our natural resources.

After all we are the SEVENTH BIGGEST CLUB IN THE WORLD! (BE PROUD OF IT MAGS. PLEASE BE FREE TO BOAST!)

SO FUCK YOU TMB!

Since no language currently known to humanity has the eloquence or vocabulary to do justice to the loathing and contempt I feel for the makkems, I'll just continue to ignore every reference that requires a response and allow my dignified silence to speak for me.

Bad news is good news as far as that bunch of sh*t sucking sub human dick splashes is concerned.

Okay. So there are aspects of the English language that could be utilised till something better comes along. :-)))

Bigger stadium (2000/2001 on) Bigger players (Dunc, Al, Solano, Lee (pitch presence, not physcial bigness!)) Bigger ambition (#45m on stadium, British transfer record (& then World Record), regularly buy players of International standard who consistently play for their country, big name managers (including 2 national coaches)

Oh, and the biggest hearted set of fans in the world. But ask Del Piero about that, eh. Never hear of him talking about the Chimps do you.

Obviously every body would have noticed how ambiguous the fucking word BIG is (either subconsciously or consciously).

what pisses me off completely is how the papers use the word big as a properganda tool.

eg. Manchester United are a big club. Then they follow with -later in the article- the richest club, most glamour, biggest fan base etc.

Also they will associate their favorite london clubs with any article on Man Utd. Hence 'the big clubs Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea.

When have Arsenal and Chelsea been proven to be on of the 7 richest most profitable clubs in Europe?

However when they use or used the word BIG with Newcastle they associate us with a spurs or Everton. Cheecky bastards!

I once (canny sad I know) wrote to a journo asking why he never wrote and associated Newcastle as big alongside Man Ure (as should be). And the fucker said we never ever won anything for 30 years.

This same journo(Roy Collins - People) has still used the word BIG with Man united, Chelsea and Arsenal and links the word big to Richness, glamour, fan base, power etc. This word big is too AMBIGUOUS.

These journos are helping to create years of fan bases to the Man Ures, chelseas, and Arsenals by creating them an illusion of glamour (which at first attrcts kids outside the North East)!

I read this post this morning and ignored it completely. A Heath supporter (at least he goes when a trophy is due to be handed out) winding us up about the Mackems finishing ahead of us - and I wasn't annoyed at all? Funny that.

Perhaps my Karma is improving. YBR works wonders.

Try this little test when you are with 'neutral' football supporters.

Ask them to name the manager and five Newcastle United players. They all name YBR and most of them will give Al, Big Yin and The General as three of the five players with others ranging from YKD and Warren Barton to Dabs, Nobby and Speed.

When they have finished ask them the same question about Sunderland.

The last time I did it, only 4 in 10 knew Peter Reid (and one of those gave Monkey Heed which I accepted) and once they had said the Munchkin and Quinn, they were all hard pressed to give anymore. Only when I gave them a clue about his father did any of them come back with Summerbee.

Does such a test not qualify who is big and who are a flash in the pan.

Lanky,

You wrote: >>>>>>To be honest Gav I have as much interest in Sunderland as I do in Charlton :-) <<<<<<<

......and here's me thinking that Bobby was still a hero round Old Trafford, or is it just that you didn't support them when he played and didn't know who he was!

In response to the wind up merchant from Birmingham. I'd like to say, welcome back... you've been sadly missed. As for your posting, I think it's obvious to you and to the rest of us that Newcastle are in a different league to Sunderland. We are one of the top 4 clubs in the country along with Man U , Liverpool and Arsenal. I reckon we are in a different league to the rest as we could all fill the likes of Wembley week in week out. All attract the best players and best coaches. All have huge followings throughout the world and all capable of winning the league. OK so we've had a bit of a slump but so have Liverpool, but they are back this year and we'll be back next year. As for Sunderland they are way behind the likes of Chelsea, Leeds, Villa and Everton, probably on par with Man City and Sheffield Wednesday. As many have pointed out, they had a good start to the season and have been lucky with injuries. Next year we'll see them in a different light, they will be back to where they belong, lurking just above the relegation zone whilst we will be hovering in the top 4.

LR, while you're here: Will Man United ever match Liverpool's achievements? Notts Forest must be so happy. Their status as the second most successful English club in Europe EVER remains intact. On the subject of NUFC being as big as Sunderland. Well, the day that we have to give away tickets to urchins and tramps to fill the ground, the day that our great manager buys 5 feet dwarves from Honduras on the strength of video evidence, the day that we get a #15 MILLION pound government grant to redevelop our ground cos we are depressed (sorry, I mean a depressed area), the day that we choose our own nickname, then Sunderland can say that they are getting towards being as big a club as Newcastle or that we are getting to be as small a club as they are. When they have Tino Asprilla, David Ginola and Andy Cole as past players, they can pretend to be a shadow of the club that Newcastle are.
