greenspun.com : LUSENET : It's All About Joe 90: The Discussion Board : One Thread

i was looking at the imusic.com gigolo aunts board because i was trying to figure out when they played a particular show. anyway, i found this post of mine:

Mon Oct 18 15:26:26 PDT 1999 24.93.125.48 Jessica Roop Joe 90 is very good. I didn't like the CD the first time I listened to it, but I have now listened to it several times and it's great. :) There are some real gems on the album like "Park Hill," "Truth," and "Cars Go By." I'm listening to it right now actually...

I later corrected myself ... I meant "Drive," not "Park Hill."

Then I found another post where I said I had bought their album the previous day... so I bought Dream This on Oct 13. I have a thing about knowing exact dates.

Oh yeah, and I still think they're "very good"... ;)

that's funny, jessica. :)

i have a thing about knowing exact dates, too. i've kept a daily journal for years, and often i'm the one going "i totally know it was THIS date..." and frantically flipping through pages to find a certain event on a certain date.

i love my daily planner.

and yes, i'm a virgo. soooo anal.

i remember i bought *dream this* on halloween, cause david immergluck was dressed as the devil. thats something you don't easily forget.

don't ask how or why i associate buying *dream this* with immy, but i do. its all very frightening, and having to recall those memories for this thread is almost too much to bare.

no immy for anyone!

jenn - i'm always writing little notes that say the date and a few words about that day... i like to find them later to think about how different (or not) my life is now. i love going through the little journals they made us keep in fourth or fifth grade... haha, i remember complaining in one of my fifth grade entries because my friend made fun of how i wore my socks. i even drew a picture. no one insults my socks. :)

jill - two words: i'm sorry.

strange... i'm seeing joe 90 in ten days and it doesn't even feel like it. i didn't even count the days until just now... i don't even have it marked on my calendar yet. i think it's better that way... tricking my mind into thinking nothing's happening at all.

i do that! i write little notes to myself a lot, and i'll toss it in my closet or in a drawer and then when i find them months later i think of what a dork i am to do that! so it's nice to know someone else does weird things like that too. :P

Grrr.. some days really stink. This one included. My computer just decided to wack out on me, right after I got my soundcard working of course... so I had to re-install win98, only to find that I needed to re-format the harddrive. After that, of course, I had/have to download all the programs I lost... Why must I have such terrible luck with computers?!

Anyhoo, I do have some input on the topic at hand. I write occasional diary entries.. sometimes once a week, sometimes once every few months... I only write when I feel like I had an important day that changed me a lot. Mainly, if I feel like writing something imporant, though, I usually write a poem... I dunno why, but it seems to help me more.

Another thing I do is I save the notes my friends write to me in school.. they always date them, so they're sorta like their own form of a diary..

Umm, gonna go clean my room, download stuff, do homework, take a shower, and uhh hopefully get some sleep in there somewhere.. and I'm sure everyone really needed to know that...

pardon the strange mood

hey AJ - good to see you :]

jessica - i was thinking, park hill!? wtf? :}

i used to save all my letters and everything, but it got out of hand. i have shoe boxes and wooden boxes and baskets filled with high school that recently fell out all over my closet, and i am too lazy to clean. its been the last few years that i've begun to throw ALL letters away. i RARELY keep them. i generally now keep special letters and postcards from when my friends are traveling (my spain friend just sent me the most hILARIOUS postcard of the pope from italy. oh god. lol. YAY! he comes home in a month! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. can i be more excited? no, i think not.)

anyhow :] I love lauryn hill.

hey you people dye your hair - if my contacts are tinted pink now, should i not wear them? :[ I CANT AFFORD NEW ONES! UGH.

okay joe 90 content. NASHVILLE IN SEIS DIAS~! WOOOOOOOOOO

content because that part! of my life! was finished!

hugs to everyone (minitu) erin

I had a big notebook full of stuff like that, but it got obnoxiously large and timeconsuming, so I stopped. Sentimental me.

I wanna go to nashville! but i have to take the SAT saturday morning and sing sunday morning and work at a charity race benefitting St. Jude Children's Hospital Sunday afternoon. St. Jude, here in Memphis, is the world's largest cancer research hospital (betcha didnt know that), and it specializes in pediatric cancer. More kid cancer patients come here than anywhere in the world. Find a website and give some money. I'm missing a Joe90 concert and missing meeting all of you for this place. Please think about it.

Drew Carey $500,000 for the Ohio Library system on WWTBAM? lol wwt *BAM!*

and his show is on tonight so i have to stay up and watch it instead of going to bed (im exhausted). i have a big test tomorrow but i'll study tomorrow morning.

i am writing (my first!) two articles for the school paper. i signed up today. and i'm trying to decide whether to try out for the plays next year--we are doing "you cant take it with you" and "big river," both of which i have never seen. i probably wont try out. i dont have enough time as it is. i did get my scheduling information today, and i am going to get to take really easy teachers next year. SWEET!

thats all
