my favorite goose started a slite limp two days ago. yesterday she didn't want to put her foot down, now she is really limping. have looked it over and can't see anything to be causing it. are geese prone to foot problems?is it time for the vet? laura

I think I would give it a couple days, maybe soak it in epsiom salts or put absorbine on it, maybe it is just sprained .Is she over weight?

actually she is a young african goose, less than a year. i have looked all over the foot and can't fing anything, but she is still limping and holding it out to the side when she stands. just came on all of a sudden. laura

If she is young and not over weight you might get her checked, It still sounds like she sprained it someway,If you take her to the vets make a appointment so they dont charge you a emergence fee.Is she eating well still? If so you might make the apointment for friday, and cage her in a dog crate, or small stall to keep her from walking on it to much and maybe she will be a little better then and you can cancel the doc appointment. If she is off her food I would take her In asap.Let us all know how she Is doing.
