Studio400 is not a capture board. It is a device that plugs into a Parrallel port of a PC and allows one to edit in an analogue fasion. Meaning, it does not digitize video for non linear editing, it simply acts as an edit controller for 2 VCR's or a VCR and a camcorder and you can inocorporate such special effects as cuts, wipes, titling, audio inserts, etc.

This is by no means in any way used for or related to VCD creation. It is a cost effective solution for editing tapes. You can however capture still shots from video sources and capture some video clips at a very small resolution.

I have one of these and it has served me and my brother well for editing tapes and it is inexpesive as upposed to proffesional tape- based editing systems costing thousands more.

I can't make any videos with this STUDIO 400. When I edit everything looks fine, but when I put it on a tape it doesn't look the same at all. Effects arrive too late, the volume changes aren't put on tape for the sound that comes from the camcorder, I can't put any CD music on the movies because I cand make any volume changes either... Anybody has some tips ? Feel free to e-mail me.
