Patty,Start at the official National Park Service web site for the Presidio at http://www.nps.gov/goga/prsf/index.htm There are lots of links to additional information on the post's natural and historic histories. There is also a visitor center in the Presidio at Bldg. 102 on the main paradge ground (near the huge flagpole). It has a small bookstore with lots of books on the Presidio and local history in general.
