NESC .,...why do they run it ?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : New England Motocross Racing : One Thread

We all pay to join NESC, but why do they decide everything for us ? Why aren't "We the Riders", able to vote on who the president should be or the board members..we are what make this organization up... why do they choose what classes to give championship points to..shouldn't all the classes get championship points ? They all work just as hard. Why does Bull Run give such small crappy throphies out when they hold the races on the biggest events? Why don't Bull Run and Southwick trophy all the top 5 females like Middleboro? Why is there not more offered at the races....holeshot awards? Why don't promoters offer incentivies? Look at some of the other classes..80cc, 125Y they have tuff classes, besides doing what they love, where is the incentive for them ? This sport is getting more popular and not cheaper. Why is this organization not "rider" organized ? You can't make everyone happy, but couldn't they try to listen to the riders? My thoughts are for anyone with comments to respond.I will continue to race NESC, but some days I have to ask my self...Why ?

I couldn't agree with you more....... I dont know if you rememeber Andy, but he was unbeleivable.. He would get on the PA system on the morning of the race and YELL at everyone like we were children, and this is an organization that we(riders)fund.. Now this year they go and rasie the price of the classes... Just a joke.. Also, the other thing they dont do a good job at is communication. If you are a new rider you cant ask a single question without feeling like an ass.. Thank god when I started racing there was someone there to answer all my questions.. Anyways, I couldn't agree with you more..

YA sandy i agree , i think also that we , the riders , should vote for who is president and ect. ,and there are alot of us young female riders that dont always race novice so we race youth also , which makes it extremly diffiult to race female , and youth at southwick , with to championship motos one right after another , i think that is a bit much , but they arent gunna change the schedual just for us "female" riders. also, i think that they should do a seperate 4 lap moto for the female class instead of running us with the 40+ class, because there are some fast people out there and that makes us loose time out on the track! like we might have a 10+2 moto, and most of us get laped like 3 times which makes us loose alot, so thats why i think they should put us out like right after the 40+ class for a short little 4 lap moto. so atleast we can get some track time!

Wow!!!!

First I read this. Then I read Paul Fournier's response to Legal MX Practice Tracks in the Places to Ride section(check it out if you missed it). The conclusion I come to is that the NESC is not about the riders, but something else instead. How about some more commentary on the subject. I have all intention of racing some day, but this sort of stuff is not exactly getting me excited about NESC. What's the deal with NEMA??????????????

I agree, and I wonder why I take my only day off to feel like cattle. It is like the military, hurry up and wait. All day. I think they should split it up so that some race on saturday and some on sunday. There are 65 50 85 cc ect....open used to be big bore now its anything go's. I have a hard time gitting people to endure the whole day out there so I will have some one with me. I have heard some bad things, said by people that should not be saying them, that makes me feel its not about the racers or the racing. I have a friend who is a former expert coming back to the sport. He is only doing district 34 and will not race even southwick, which is practically in his back yard. But I too will continue.

I agree with ya Wally.. I dont think they should run 50 or 60 at the NESC.. That's what NEMA is for. Also, if it is a non-championshipo week for a class, it should run at all. It should be taken off the schedule all together.. That way the Championship classes that week would get "real" practices as well as real moto's... That's my 2 cents..

If the NESC does not get there act together, I think Skowhegan-MX and Jolly Rogers are going to make a TON of money this year. they care about what the riders want !

I think everyone should go to jolly rogers or skowhegan on a weekend that nesc is running at bull run and let yvon yell at himself all weekend instead of everybody else. maybe a big loss of $$$$$$$ is all they will ever understand!!!!!!!!

we are going to jolly rogers, and unadilla and maybe some others this year , i remember last year we got to bull run REALLY late and i woke up and was sittin out side with some people that we came up with and yovonne came up and started yellin at us for money and my dad was sleepin and so were there parents and this was around 5:30 in the mornin and he was like " i dont care wake him up " then i said back to him " chill come back in a few minutes" and he just continued on yellin . so we are going to go some other tracks this year not just nesc and we are also joining nema. well good luck !
