building a miniature roof

I need to know how to build a miniature pitched roof for the top of a well. does anyone know any websites for such info? Do I need special tools for the peak? sign me "all-thumbs"

Believe it or not, it sounds like what you need is similar to a gazebo roof. I know you can find plans or other information on that kind of construction on the learning channel's web site. They have several do it yourself constructions shows, home time, etc. By the way, I'm assuming that you mean an old fashioned type well, if not post back with more info. annette

Check in the library in the section on construction. You should find several books with pictures and plans for the type of thing you are looking for. And there are ways to build it without any special tools other than the usual saws, hammer, carpenters square, etc.

The easiest way would be to go to your local home-improvement store and get a few small trusses. They will also tell you how many you need and how to put them on.
