Hey everyone! I have not been around for a very long time. I really needed a break.

Chelsea is doing really good. She is in complete remision. We still have to do chemotheropy every week and every 3 months take a trip to St Jude in Memphis, we only have to stay for 6 weeks twice a year. I would say the hardest part on us now is the sceduling. Man, it is hard to pack up and take 1 or 2 children with you, leave behind my husband, another child, and everything involving my business. But all things consided.... we are blessed. Just to have Chelsea with us.... we are blessed.

I don't reconize many names.... has everyone changed idenity? Or have most just left? I don't get the conversations.... Are people waiting for the other shoe to fall? I really did believe that really horable things could happen with the turn of the year... and I have a basment full of food to prove it. But nothing happened. Very little if anything, mostly nothing. I was so relieved. Having a child diagnosed with Leukemia on Christmas Eve..... I was more than a little conserned about the "System". Being away from our safe farm, that we had loaded to the gills with food, amo, gas, elec supply, etc.... away from everything. We were in a strange city. Knew nobody. A very large city to be exact. The worst part was having my 3 children scattered all over the place. My 8 year old son was with his grandparents in northern Iowa, My 3 year old daughter was with my sister in Southern Illinois, my hubby was at home/and with us when he could be, and Chelsea was with me in Memphis.

What a relief when nothing happened.

Why is everyone still here? I thought everyone would still be here... but maybe on a lighter note. I found myself wanting to come back to chat with old friends, because I have missed you all. But I cant take all of this heavy doomer stuff. Not when my own life is teetering on the edge.

Bulldog, I just sent ya an email. Great to see you and hear that Chelsea is doing well. We've missed you in chat! You sound like your doing a great job at surviving!! You did what you had to do, and you are a champion! I know you are Chelsea's hero! :-)

Bulldog, for all those who liked to suggest that doomers *wanted* something to happen, I think what y2k might have meant to your family was reason enough to be thankful for how things turned out. In the confusing early days of 2000, Chelsea and others provided balance for me. So glad to hear that Chelsea and your family are doing well! Thanks for staying in touch, your courage is inspiring.
