Yeah, Jim, you missed about 18 months of steady diet of this kind of cogent commentary by showing up late. Where were you? We had so much fun watching Eddie and the Hand Puppets endorse such contributions. Altogether too much of the pessimistic case showed exactly this much insight, articulated with exactly this much flair. You could have appreciated it in real time.

-- Flint (flintc@mindspring.com), April 20, 2000.

LOL! Sorry, "You", but given where Jim's head is, he can't hear you.

-- (Jim Bugs@me.2), April 20, 2000.

Flints just jealous of Jim

-- (green@eyed.monster), April 20, 2000.

Flint IS Jim Cooke.

He couldn't resist coming back after he gave his big ego-feeding goodbye post, so he made up that name. You can tell by the way he argues, skeptical and contradictory of anything and everything. I'm suprised he even believes that we are real living beings on a planet called Earth. "There's no proof!!" LOL!!!

-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), April 20, 2000.

I suspect it's been going on for much longer than 18 months, Flint. I didn't get it real-time like you did, but I checked out the archives when I first came to TB2000. At the time I entered the forum, Y2kPro was ALREADY being flipped the bird for ANYTHING he said. I was particularly curious to see what he'd said in the past that had turned the majority of posters in the direction of his disdain. I found lengthy, cogent posts by the man. He certainly didn't agree with the doomsday philosophy, but he provided detailed accounts of his experiences in IT that led him to form his opinion. These accounts were dismissed willy-nilly.

Since reading those archives, I've seen him slated as working for Burger King, slated as being a female [oh the horror of THAT one],etc., but the OUTSTANDING accusation was the one about spamming the forum. It's no wonder TO ME that, having been abused from the get-go simply because he knew about computers and had worked on successful remediation projects, he would tire of the constant haranguing and save his breath/fingers for folks more worthy of his time.

I didn't look into Ken's posts in the archives. Ken's training is in economics, and Y2kPro's training is in IT, so as an IT person myself, I found Y2kPro's posts more interesting. The principle is the same, however. If one agrees with another's opinions, you MUST have your head in their butt somehow. There's no option to simply state that one disagrees with another's opinion without anatomical references. If one disagrees with another [I've noticed], this automagically means that one's penis is diminished in size or one's head is misplaced.

I'd be curious to see the pictures drawn of our culture if the archives of this forum and others lasted long enough for our grandchildren to analyze the results.

You're not going to scrub MY BACK Jim!!

-- I don't care how (nice@you.ask), April 20, 2000.

Alright! My own troll! Does this mean I'm no longer a newcomer :^)

No, I'm not Flint, although I take the accusation as an honor, Hawk. But I'll bet you're at least one of the other posters on this thread.

What else can I say?

-- Jim Cooke (JJCooke@yahoo.com), April 20, 2000.

so Jim do you think Hawk is Flint or Anita?

-- because I (am@the.rest), April 20, 2000.

Sorry Jim/Flint, try again. Just like Mikey/Ra, always accusing others of doing what you are doing. Ask OTFR.

-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), April 20, 2000.

So Hawk, who don't you? That is as OTFR if Ra and I are the same person.

I asked for facts from the forum moderator ONCE -- you have accused me of posting under multiple handles a number of times. Talk about being guilty of what you accuse others of.

Just for the record: I am not Ra and Ra is not me. Nor have I posted to this forum under other handles.

Have a nice day Hawk. Have you solved any more airplane crashes lately?

-- Mikey2k (mikey2k@he.wont.eat.it), April 20, 2000.

So Hawk, who don't you? That is as OTFR if Ra and I are the same person.

I won't ask about sentence structure... but what the hell were you trying to say?

-- Netghost (ng@no.yr), April 20, 2000.

"Have a nice day Hawk. Have you solved any more airplane crashes lately?"

Not since Flight 261. Have you ever solved any at all, or you still waitin for da gubmint?

-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), April 20, 2000.

Mikey, got a question for ya. It seems that you are watching the forum closely enough that you are able to respond almost immediately when I mention your name. In fact it seems like you are watching the forum as much as Ra does, almost 24 hours a day, yet you never post anything until I mention that you are Ra. How come we never see any posts from you until I suggest that you are Ra, then all of a sudden you are right there to respond?

-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), April 20, 2000.

Darn. I had almost forgotten about that load of crap that Hawk pinched out on Flight 261. I think that it had even had pictures on it, too.

It's kind of funny that no other planes have crashed due to the problem that Hawk sol....

Wait a minute! There were no other plane crashes because Hawk DID solve the problem. And the FAA, being smart, came to a website where so many know-it-alls were so GROSSLY wrong about Y2K but decided to roll the dice anyway and quietly took a random, uninformed, wacky guess by a complete non-expert and used his information to solve the problem.

And I bet they didn't even thank you, Hawk.

Yeah, that's the ticket.

-- CJS (cjs@noemail.com), April 20, 2000.

Thanks for the acknowledgement CJS, but it really isn't necessary. I have been thanked in the best way, just by knowing of all of the lives I have saved. Of course the Airline wouldn't want to thank me, because it was very expensive to "inspect" all of those planes and replace the non-compliant chips. But I didn't expect any thanks from them, God thanks me every day.

-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), April 21, 2000.

Jim,

You really did miss quite a show. On the old forum, the "doomers" only had to explain blown "critical" dates... not the rollover itself. You could have read the daily, "Why are pollies so stupid?" thread. You could have heard Russ "Big Dog" Lipton repeat the forum chant, "The code is broken and we started too late." You could have been pilloried for questioning the Holy Gospel according to Saint Yourdon. You could have been accused of killing millions of innocents with your "polly" nonsense... while taking checks from a secret gov't organization designed to defuse the only truth-talking, God-fearing Y2K preppers on the 'net.

They were indeed heady times.

-- Ken Decker (kcdecker@worldnet.att.net), April 21, 2000.

Netghost, I had a typo and missed one letter in my question of Hawk. If you're smart enough, you can figure out what it was.

And Hawk, if you're smart enough and can figure out what the missing letter was AND answer my question, then I'll answer yours.

-- Mikey2k (mikey2k@he.wont.eat.it), April 21, 2000.

Mikey, I knew what the missing letter was, but as YOU already know, we asked OTFR a few days ago for different names with matching IP's and received no reply. Feel free to give it another try, no one is stopping you, and I think the evidence would be very enlightening.

Now, since you seem to enjoy these stupid "answer my question first" games, I guess I have to remind you AGAIN that you seem to be avoiding MY question...

-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), April 21, 2000.

Well, Mikey?? I'm still waiting! ..... ???

-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), April 21, 2000.

Guess it's gonna take you a while to try to think of a way to explain these very unusual posting habits you have. This ought to be good. :-)

-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), April 21, 2000.

Well Hawk, when it came to a choice to staying up all night and debating with you and getting a good night's sleep, you were second choice. If you find that unusual, then so be it. I'd think that you'd find all normal people unusual, from your viewpoint.

No, I don't know of any earlier request of OTFR for handle/IP address matching. I have scaled back my attendance at this forum but happened to run across this thread. As far as other immediate responses from me to other comments by you in the last couple of weeks, perhaps you'd point them out.

As far as solving airplane crashes without facts, that's something that only an irrational person like you can pretend to accomplish. I demolished your inane ideas in this earlier thread which you've ignored. Since the articles I link have been removed from their sites, you can pretend that they don't exist. But wait, how does your reasoning go? -- something like no evidence being proof? That would cinch my rebuttal.

I remember when pressed for details about the alleged non-compliant chips in the MD-80s that you responded with an eruption of profanity instead of details, which led to deletion of a couple of your posts by Diane. I think that the fact that you are allowed to post at the slEZ Board while Flint is prohibited says volumes about her and her crowd.

-- Mikey2k (mikey2k@he.wont.eat.it), April 21, 2000.

Hey Mikey my man you should not be surprised,

That when dealing with Hawk is often disguised,

If caught up to late,

His posts will abate,

As from his mummy he gets chastised.
