I keep checking this thread for answers but still don't see any! It seems like I've heard of something like this before, but I don't think it was in Countryside. I guess since we're not too far from a large supermarket that sells pregnancy tests for about $4 each, I'll probably just stick with those. Still, it would be interesting to hear about this homemade pregnancy test.

I guess I was just lucky (depending on how you look at it!!!). Every time I've been pregnant I start morning sickness about three days in!!! I've never had to buy a kit to know. My stomach always lets me know pretty much immediately! I'll have a surf for you, though, and let you know if I find anything.

I would like to know to. The test may only be $4.00 to $12.00 BUT when your trying to get pregnant and your excited about it, it can become very exspensive if your not a patient person. thanks

My husband and I have probally spent more on pregnancy tests than it costs to have a child!!! I wish there were a way to find out as soon as you conceive. I am very impatient and it is so hard waiting for an answer!!

I've heard of the same pine-sol story, but can't remember the other part. Like all of you, we've spent so much money on pregnancy tests....I'll keep searching!!

I thought that was a sex test... my mother had an article about it years back, said it wasn't a true thing, just something for fun... oh well... let me know if you find something otherwise~

I have been looking for a cheaper alternative for the store-bought pregnancy test, too, but the only thing I have found so far is a site called BabyHopes.com. The site offers generic Ovulation Test Strips AND Pregnancy Test Strips along with the Sticks--but the strips are cheaper (you just have to collect the urine in a disposable cup). I have ordered--by the way, the strips are small enought that they are shipped in a regular envelope--FOR FREE! The only problem--I think my toddler found the trash can with my envelope complete with 5 tests! :o {

WELL LADIES....THIS IS THE CLOSEST THING I COULD FIND ON THE WEB. URINATE DAILY ON TWO CLOTH BAGS, ONE CONTAINING WHEAT, THE OTHER BARLEY(SEED THAT IS). IF BOTH GERMINATE YOUR PREGNANT, IF NEITHER, YOUR NOT....OR YOU COULD PUT A BARLEY SEED IN SOIL IN A LITTLE POT, DO THE SAME FOR WHEAT, POUR YOUR URINE ON TOP, COVER WITH MORE SOIL, AND WAIT TO SEE IF THEY GROW.....TO TAKE IT A STEP DEEPER, THE ANCIENT EGYPTIANS SAID THAT IF ONE GREW BEFORE THE OTHER, THAT WOULD LET YOU KNOW THE SEX, UNFORTUNATELY, I DON'T REMEMBER WHICH ONE....GOOD LUCK,I'M GONNA TRY (SMILE)....OH, THIS IS PROBABLY FOR THE PATIENT PERSON, BUT LOOK AT IT THIS WAY, IF YOUR THE TYPE WHO IS NOT SURE YOU WANT TO KNOW, THEN DO IT, WAIT A FEW DAYS, THEN GO BACK TO IT TO SEE. I THINK MODERN PREG. TEST ARE THE QUICKEST. OH, I LOOKED IN YAHOO UNDER ANCIENT PREGNANCY TESTS TO FIND OUT WHO DID WHAT SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO E-MAIL ME TO SEE WHERE I GOT THE INFORMATION. ONCE AGAIN GOOD LUCK!
