chicken tractors

How tall should a chicken tractor be? I'm planning on building 2 for my chickens, and I have all the dimentions but that one. Annette

Ours is 6 foot door--with the front 8 foot and the rear 6 foot. Hope this helps.

Ours is not quite four feet tall, on skida to be pulled with the four wheeler. It has a hinged door over the nests to gather eggs and another to pour feed and water into the pans that are attached inside.

Wire sides and metal roofing top.

It was quite a hit in our son's vo ag shop class as he built it.

Mine is 30" high with a hinged top.

We built our chickens tractors only 2' high. My wife is only 5'2" and we felt they would be easier (lighter) for her to move. The chickens really don't care how tall they are. We built nest boxes on one end that are accessible without opening the entire top. We also included a roost bar - probably more important for layers than meat birds.
