I don't know if there is just one easy way to get the rare monsters. Just do what the archives say to get that monster and you should have no problems. If you try just for one specific type of monster, like say a Durahan, then you should have no problem getting it. A lot of people unlock 4 or 5 types of monsters with just one single good monster. So raise a good monster and use the archives to find out how to get the type of monster you want. Follow the instructions and you are set.

I was unlocking when people were just learning HOW to unlock, but I decided if I needed to do it again I would follow 2 guidelines. Use the most powerful breeds given to me when possible, and plan ahead. I would start with killing a Sueki to kick in Ghost. Then Raise an Angel. I would save time by getting and raising the phoenix ASAP (Ideally my 3rd monster, made from Angel and Ghost). Then I would have gotten one quack doll by then and several of the first step quest items (Mask, Sheath, Footprint, Glue). Then I would raise a slated Worm for Beaclon and get ducken on the way. If the worm turned out well I would Get Durahan and Centaur and whatever higher I could. The next monster should end up getting me the rest if it did reall
