Secret Combinations

In MR1 there were many secret combining techniques, is this true of MR2 as wel? I haven't come across any cool combos that produce a completely different monster. Also, I am now raising a second generation Durahan (sub Dragon). It's prime was significantly shorter than my first Durahan (pure), and it's lifespan as well. It this because I combined it with a Dragon (which has a much shorter lifespan)? I haven't changed my raising technique much other than to ad in more Nuts Oil and rest (which seems to be one thing you all agree on). Oh, sorry.....just one more Q......on expeditions, how important is intelligence in MR2? I know the monster will find items more quickly (and not wander to the same empty slot 8 million times) if the intelligence stat is high, but does the level of intelligence change the items that can be found? Please help!!!!!!!!

Yes on both counts! Any long-lived monster that is combined with a short-lived monster will result in a loss of overall lifespan. You can counter this by addidn Plant chips, but there's really no tmuch else that can be done.

As for the importence of intelligence on adventures....the more intelligence your monster has, the better items it will find

Ex. A monster with 200 intellignce will find a "Half-Eaten" where a monster with 600+ intelligence finds "Pure Gold."

It's a bit of an exaggeration, but you get the point.

I haven't run into any secret combos, other than using special items(i.e. double-edged,zilla beard). As far as intel,YES!! A 900+ int monster will find golden peaches where a more moronic monster will find bananas, paradoxine vs powder, etc. You are correct about your Durahan/dragon

In my oppinion, SKI is more important to finding good stuff than INT. I purposely raised a Phoenix because I knew they were good at INT, but when I took mine with 900+ INT on any expedition (the Torles Mountain in particular), it wouldn't find any of the "rare" items. Mind you, it would never go to the same empty spot twice (and usually not even once), but all it found were "rare" disk chips, like Mock, Phoenix, Metalner, etc, never a rare item (like the Foot Print). Now one time I accidentaly said yes to Kavarro when I was raising a Stone Dragon, and didn't feel like resetting the game, so I played out the adventure. I walked him to the "Tusk" Tower, and he found both the Old Sheath and a Golden Peach! Mind you his INT was around 150 while his SKI was near 450. Another time I accidentaly said yes to Rovest's dad (I forget his name right now), and had to go to the Kawera Volcano with my Beaclon. Again I got amazing results when compaired to my Phoenix, as my Beaclon found another Fire Feather and a Joker Mask! My Beaclon also had about 150 INT and 500 SKI. So to restate, I think that SKI affects what items you will find more than INT.

My Pheonix has 999 Int and he still finds half-eaten nuts.

No way, Buttweasle. You need good INT to get past the hidden path.
