Are there any disadvantages to owning a slim monster? I imagine there's some advantages but I don't know of any disadvantages.

-- Megan Fleming (m_e_fleming@yahoo.com), March 19, 2000 Answers In MR1 it was purely asthetic. In MR2 I can't tell. Maybe fat monsters live longer/less (?).

the current theory is that fat monsters live longer, while skinny monsters train/battle more effectively. please note - there is absolutely no support for this theory at the moment.

The thing is, if a monster gets Fat or Slim (and especially if Plump or Skinny), they get stressed out alot easier. If a monster has normal weight, it might be able to go for a year or more without Mint Leaves or Battles, and still never get stressed (this depends on the monster, by the way...Jokers want fights, and they can't stay off the battlefield as long as others). On the other hand, a Skinny or Plump monster will get stressed out after only a month or two without battles, EVEN IF YOU FEED IT MINT LEAVES! Once I started keeping my monsters at Normal weight, they started living for about a year or two longer.

Fat/Plump monsters live longer, but have lower stat gains. Slim/Skinny monsters have shorter life-spans but have higher stat gains.

hmmm is it possible that both nate and wheel are correct? the two really aren't mutually exclusive...

Well Nate, I've got a skinny monster right now (Worm I'm trying to get to Beaclon) who hates battles. If I feed mint, loyalty goes down. How do I keep stress away and get to 80 Loyalty?

I don't think you'll be able to restrict your use of mint leaves. Its the only way to get rid of a lot of stress with an item from the market. The mint leaf subtracts 5 form and 2 spoil. Try supplementing each mint leaf with a couple of mangos and a candy. Each mango will add one spoil, one fear and one form. The candy will also reduce stress a little and add 10 form and one spoil. This should counter- act the loyalty problem and make up for the weight reduction from using cup jellies and mint leaves. Give me a holler if this works.
