Rare Monster Review

I would like to know what Rare mosnters everybody has gotten and if they came with an extra attack(My Skeleton came built-in with Arm Cannon). I already have Sueki Suezo, Time Noise and Skeleton. And if anyone can find something that doesn't come off the usual CD(like a Ninja Kato not coming from Tenchu:Stealth Assassin) please tell me.

gameshark is evil..........

Gameshark is not the answer. It encourages cheating and not doing things on your own. As for your question The Matrix soundtrack has a Poison (Pixie/???) and Legend: The Best of Bob Marley and the Wailers has a Raggae Plant (Plant/???).

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry for not telling you their moves. Poison has Heel Raid and Raggae Plant has a life sucking move.

All sub??? monsters have three attacks that is why they are sub??? monsters they start better than regular ones.

Got a soldier gaboo from Metal Gear Solid for the psx but I don't like gaboos too much so I didn't use him

Could anyone tell me descriptions?

-- Skeleton (lorac@rapidnet.com), December 18, 1999.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh, and the Time Noise only had 2 attacks.

What's wrong with using game enhancing peripherals? If you, for instance, have already LEGITIMATELY bred a Durahan, but you do not posess any cd's with either Durahan Mains or Subs, what's wrong with using a Game Shark or other game enhancer to get a Durahan? I'd really like to know peoples logic behind this. And don't give me the "It ruins the game" or "It promotes people to do nothing and still get something" arguments, because believe it or not some people LIKE being able to see certain aspects of a game without having to go through all the crap it takes to get them. If you don't, then that's fine, but don't push your beliefs or philosophies on others.

I got a really gay looking happy mask from the Backstreet Boys Millennium CD (which I borrowed). I use it but only cause it's got good stats. oh yeah it came with the red wisp attack.

death to gameshark

Not all /??? monsters have 3 atacks. (deluxe liner for example has two). At least one (mia, from shania twain's "the woman in me" cd) has 4.

-- WildCard (rincewind@uswest.net), December 19, 1999.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chinois(metalner/???) comes with NO additional attacks. What a crappy monster(in my opinion).

-- RNA (RNA@Ribosome.nuc), December 19, 1999.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

gameshark isn't bad it all depends on how yoo use it if you use it to unlock all the monster and max out stats then you ruin the game if you get it so you can have Moo, Mia and other rares then no it is helpful and doesn't hurt anything it is just soooo hard not to cheat when you have a cheat device. I am wanting to rent one(once I have freezer space) to get Moo A mew a mock and probably a few other creatures my CD's won't produce.

I got an Express Worm off of Beastie Boys' Licensed to Ill, tried to turn it into a Beaclon. ($#@! Beaclon!) It had great stats and a long life, but its main bonus was its looks (looks like the express train off the album cover). Anyone out there have a Moo? Does he look like Moo from the show. Bottom line-is it worth going out and buying the CD just to get him?

When I transfered my disks from MR1 it changed to a Disk Niton, the soccar ball disk changes to a soccar ball Niton. I haven't tried the tire Disk yet or any of the other MR1 special monsters

Thanks and I just got Mia, Express Worm, Mocchini, and Kung Fu Hare.

I have:

Moo - doesn't look like he is on the show because the dude on the show hads't actually found the body of Moo yet. He's a black dragon with white and purple FUR instead of scales and a MANE on his neck/back, glowing eyes, horns turned forward(towards the front of his head), and a really weird looking head. By far the coolest monster and most different from the purebreed that I've seen yet. Don't remember the stats but he starts with a range 4 intellect fire move that's like A hit and A damage, unfortunately his nature is worst.

Eggplantern - has several different traits(guard, vigor, power), is best in nature, starts with crappy intellect move(horn cannon) and not too shabby stats. Unfortunately, he looks like a complete TOOL. He's a frickin eggplant with no eyes, ears, mouth, etc. Really horrible looking, oh well.

Skeleton - another dorky looking one, don't know about moves/stats

Shogun - I remember the stats being decent and he looks REALLY awesome all decked out in the armour of a samurai :)

Kung Fu Hare - the most god awful stats I've EVER seen! Yes, he starts with Back blow but who the hell cares! His levels add up to 15! :(

Deluxe Liner - don't remember the stats/moves. Interesting detail on the back but all round kinda dorky. But hey...it is a zilla, so who cares what it looks like?! :)

Swimmer - thought it was cute that it got a +1 on the swim drill :P Also starts with Miaow move(nice withering) Semi-decent stats and kinda neat looking.

Cinder Bird - what can I say? :) He's got awesome stats, even for a Phoenix and he starts with that tidal wave move(fire stream) that has like A damage A hit :P

Chinois - crappy stats, no extra moves, and it looks just like a normal metalner :(

Bloodshed - another REALLY cool looking one. I always hated the stupid smile on the joker(made him look cutesy) but with a mask on you can't see it, making him look 10 times more evil. Also, his clothes are ripped and blood soaked >:) He also starts with one of those intellect moves(or is it death final?) and awesome(I mean AWESOME) stats

Metal Jell - if you liked the T-1000 from T2 you HAVE to get this one. He looks EALLY bad ass. He's all shiny and junk. He starts with an awesome move too(gatling gun). normal stats I think

White Birch - kinda cool looking, decent stats, no extra moves, but a nice way to get a mock after using the first one without having to combine subtypes :)

Cawken - kinda neat looking, starts with ducken dance(how crappy can you get?), normal stats

Galaxy - haven't tried him yet :P I hate monols :(

Well, that's it. I hope to have Ninja Kato, Happy Mask(my wife asked for it for X-mas :) I was so happy), Kokushi Muso, and Poison soon. And I'd LOVE to have Pithecan and express worm but I can't find the CD used(see below). Also, I tried to get Ultrarl once and Pole Mock twice and STILL didn't get the right CD :( Oh well...

PS. My hint for getting rares: buy the CD's used. This is what I do. It should be anywhere from 5-8 dollars(at least it is here) and if it's the wrong one you can sell it back for a little less than that and only take a loss of about 2-3 dollars, big deal. No, I'm not rich and no, I don't think that's too much for 'some monster'. In my opinion and experience the 'rares' raise so diferently that it's like paying 5-8 dollars for a whole new game(most of them anyway). Also, all except Moo, Deluxe Liner, Cinder Bird, and White Birch I listen to anyway but I got Beck(Moo) for Magnet in the first one so now that it's made me 2 different cool rares it was definitely worth it(had to try three times for that one). If I'm gonna buy a CD I might as well get a good monster out of it :)

Hey Kung-Fu Hare may have crappy stats but mine was my first monster to get to A class. Overall good reviews.

-- Fritz 7 (Ghostman12@hotmail.com), December 24, 1999.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I've yet to try the Kung-Fu Hare so I'll admit you're right, starting stats don't make the monster. I know this for a fact from my Wracky :) I'll let you know what I think after I've raised him.

-- Billy Newlin (venom@usit.net), December 24, 1999.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey Billy, you might be able to save yourself even the two or three bucks. Most people are fascinated by the very concept of monster rancher, and perfectly willing to trade staight across if you do it on the same day or the next bussiness day, even for a whole new title. I sugest asking and giving it a try, that way they know what you are trying to do and recognise that being nice can mean more monster sales down the road.

-- WildCard (rincewind@uswest.net), December 24, 1999.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just got Grey Wolf for MR1(for MR1 players this monster is awesome!) and Goboo Soldier and Frog Hopper for MR2(Frog Hopper is frickin' stupid-looking with awful stats!)Oh, and much thanks Billy!
