The Much Much Better Method

Why post this method?

First off this method is just another method. I have experimented with methods, but not too many. I'm posting this because the hacker deleted my other method. Like all methods there are just some things I can't cover in this method. Sometimes people must improvise with monsters. Stuff can happen and the method won't work perfectly. I don't know if anybody will use this method, but it is made to help people to get those high stats and gain some helpful tips about how to raise monsters.

For you if:

If you want high stats and have a lot of many to spend. If you want to get to beat those hard monsters that everyone talks about beating. If you want to raise some monsters that can compete with the best of the monsters.

Not for you if:

If you don't like to follow methods. If you don't like taking other people's advise. If you do not have a lot of money or patience.

Works best with:

This method works best with well rounded monsters. Mocchis, Durahans, Beaclons, Pixies, and any monster that gets good stat gains in at least four stats.

What you need:

2 gemini pots, 2 dino tails, 1 fire stone, at least $175,000, a monster that likes Tablets, and PATIENCE.

Abbreviations: NO=Nuts Oil
ML=Mint Leaf
.../...=It means you have a choice. It pretty much means "or".
LD=Light Drill
HD=Hard Drill

When to use the peaches:

Use the Gold peach about a year into your monster's prime. Use the Silver peach at the decline of your monster's prime.

Why do I throw in all those candies?

The candies are thrown in each month to keep your monster's form at normal. There is no particular reason for keeping your monster's form normal except people say it is better for your monsters. There is no direct evidence to prove what it does. If your monster starts getting fat, stop feeding it candies.

When to use the "drugs":

Use the drugs after your monster is over 5 months old. This way you can optimize the amount of stats gained from the Light Drills.

The early life of a monster:

When you get a monster bring it out on the 4th week of any month. Rest it. Then feed it milk. Now, for the first 5 months of your monster's life feed it milk and rest it at the end of each month. The schedule for the months are.

Month 1: (LD,LD,LD,rest)(candy,ML,NO,ML)
Month 2: (LD,LD,LD,rest)(candy,ML,NO,ML)

During these first 5 months of your monster's life try not to be too hard on your monster. Train your monster in skill during these months. If your monster isn't good at skill, try to train another stat. You will need skill though so hopefully you get a monster that is good at skill.

Later in Stage 1:

Now that your monster is over 5 months old start feeding it Tablets. This is the part where you can start introducing drugs to your monster. Either Paradoxine or Troron will work here. The monthly schedule now changes to:

Month 1: (LD,LD,LD,LD)(candy,ML,NO,ML)
Month 2: (LD,LD,LD,LD)(NO,ML,NO,candy)
Month 3: (LD,LD,LD,LD)(NO,ML,NO,ML)
Just repeat months 2 and 3 after you get done with month 1. Month 1 is the first month of your new monthly schedule.

During these months try to keep your monster at continous work. There is no need to rest it. Just follow the schedule and don't send you monster into battle or on errantries. Try to raise your monsters best stats evenly here. Keep its stats going up, but even.

Stage 2:

Now you encounter two options for your monster. Use which ever you prefer.
Option 1: Start your monster on hard drills even though it might only be gaining like 10 points on its best light drill. This is where you start to raise your monster's best stats. If you want to send your monster on errantries, now is the time. Make sure that you save befor you send your monster on an errantry. If your monster does not pass or get the technique you wanted, RESET and try again. The monthly schedule is now:

Month 1: (HD,HD,HD,HD)(candy,ML,NO,ML)
Month 2: (HD,HD,HD,rest)(NO,candy,NO,ML)
Month 3: (HD,HD,HD,HD)(candy,ML,NO,ML)
Month 4: (HD,HD,HD,rest)(NO,candy,NO,candy)
Months 3 and 4 are options. You could just repeat months 1 and 2 over and over. Some monsters are able to handle months 3 and 4 though. Not all monsters can though. So you will probably use months 1 and 2 only.

Option 2:

You could wait to start Stage 2. If you wait, wait till your monster is gaining like 12+ points per best Light Drill. This is the second option. Conditions are the same as Option 1 except you would want to try and send your monster on errantries before you start this stage. You would keep the "Later Stage 1" monthly schedule going, until it gains 12+ points on its best Light Drills. After your monster starts gaining 12+ points you could start the Hard Drills. The schedule is the same as Option 1.

In either option though this is your oportunity to enter any tournaments if you want. If you enter a tournament you must do it in place of the Mint Leaf. If it is where you would normally rest, skip the tournament. If you look ahead while you are playing you should be able to plan your tournaments out. Do not fight in a lot of tournaments now though, because you will be fighting in many later on. Also, in both options, only Hard Drill in the stats that your monster excels in.

Stage 3:

This is your monsters prime. This is when your monster is gaining 15 points per light drill. Now is the time to raise your monsters stats really high. For the first part of your monsters prime you should train it in the stats that it is best at. Only do this for like 3 or 4 months. After that raise all the stats that your monster is weak in. This is the best time to raise those stats up. Using the Hard Drills you will lose some stats in some areas. When you lose it, do a Hard Drill to get that stat back up, then go back to raising the other stat again. For example: On the Meditate Hard Drill you lose defense. So do the Meditate Hard Drill like maybe 3 months then go do the Swimming Hard Drill for like a month to raise up the Defense you lost. Anyway the new monthly schedule is:

Month 1: (HD,HD,HD,HD)(candy,ML,NO,ML)
Month 2: (HD,HD,HD,rest)(NO,candy,NO,ML)
Month 3: (HD,HD,HD,HD)(candy,ML,NO,ML)
Month 4: (HD,HD,HD,rest)(NO,candy,NO,candy)
Thats right, just keep it the same as it was. Be sure not to max out any stats during this time.

Stage 4:

This is your monster's declining stage. For the first couple months of this, when your monster is still gaining 14+ points on its best Hard Drill, you can try and raise some of your monsters best stats again. After a few months in the declining stage it will be ready to enter the freezing process. This is where you will really need some patience.

The Freezing Process:

The freezing process is where you take your monster and throw it in the freezer. You only bring it out to fight in tournaments. You always save before you enter a tournament. Beat the tournament and see if the stats that your monster needs goes up or the stats that you especially want to go up. If all the stats that you wanted to go up, didn't, RESET and try again. If the stats don't go up by enough, RESET and try again. After the tournament give your monster a Nuts Oil and freeze it. For the months inbetween just raise any monster to kill.

So after your monster becomes to old. Freeze it and save it for combining later. The freezing process will easily get you a huge boost in stats if you have the patience.

Very nice. Very, very nice. I like it. I'll try it soon and let ya know how it turns out

You did a great job with the HTML, it really helps in the reading. No mistakes to boot. To bad RNA doesn't know HTML, it would really help out how his method looks, a lot, and I mean A LOT.

Looks good.

Hi, great work, The Man! Just a couple of questions. First, what is the supposed effect of the Dino Tails in the inventory? And the Fire Stone? Where do you get a Fire Stone anyway? I've been playing and going on expeditions forever and never found one, though I had several in MR1.

Also, could you clarify a little about the drugs? I know it's in another thread somewhere, but I'm lazy, and since you went to so much trouble to make this a cool and comprehensive guide, maybe you could add it with all the cool HTML tags. ;)

-- G.S. (gatsby@autobahn.org), February 29, 2000.

1) I say 2 Dino Tails because the effect is a supposed increase in luck. The reason I say to have 2 is because that is what I have in my inventory and if that is what I need for my method to work you will probably need the same.

2) Fire stones reduce stress during the winter. They can be found on the Torles mountain expedition.

When to use the "drugs":

Use the drugs Paradoxine or Troron after you monster is over 5 months old. The reason being after 5 months is because that is when you start a new schedule of a full time work instead of only temporary work. The drugs increase that stat gain while your monster is young quite a bit. Using these drugs with a monster that is not good in skill will help it to be able to gain skill, or any other stat that you want it to be good in. Paradoxine is found on the Torles mountain expedition. It is the most powerful of the two drugs. Drugs do shorten your monster's lifespan so beware. Use the drugs when your monster is well.

For more stuff on drugs check these threads out:
Drug Report: PARADOXINE
Report on the effect of TRORON
These threads are very useful and explain the effects of these two drugs perfectly. These are very useful threads and I would suggest that you read them.

Thanks for asking questions. If you have anymore I will be glad to answer. Hope I answered your questions.

Hey RNA, I did this methed and found a better methed in it. When your monster goes into the Later in Stase 1 part, repeat the Later in Stage 1 part untell your monster reachs it's prime. When it reachs it's prime, skip Stage 2 and go to Stage 3. But in the time your in Later in Stage 1, do these drills in this order. Month 1: Skill, Power, Defense, Speed. Month 2: Power, Life, Skill, Int. Month 3: Speed, Defense, Power, and Life. Using this mini-methed, my Jelly Worm(with the G.S. to test to methed on a Worm)(also, I made a new file for this) liked me, had 89 loyalty, and is the age of 1.4 years. Plus, this mini-methed helps all of any monster's stats rise very fast.

-- Wheel Gator (MyersDCM@email.msn.com), March 01, 2000.

I used your Old Method and I thought it was pretty great. I maxed out 4 Stats with my Durahan and Oscerlot (Dragon/kato). I really like the Repost I will have to try it after I am done trying RNA's.

-- Midnight (Steve.p.sharrard@candescent.com), March 01, 2000.

Wheel Gator:

Hmmm....intersting Wheel gator. That is why I gave two options for when to start Stage 2. The second option puts you really close to your prime. I don't know why you would mix the drills up in that order though. Stat gain would only be very minimal, especially with monsters that aren't good in all stats. The amount you would gain from all of this would be less then just focusing on a few selected stats. So that is why I said to focus on stats instead of switching it up so much. If you switch it up too much your monster will waste some training. Use the Hard Drills to increase the stats that your monster is not very good at, otherwise the amount of stats gained won't be that high.

Midnight:

I'm glad my method has worked for you. It seems like you raised two really good monsters. Its cool that you had so much success with it.

-- The Man (djedmond@pinenet.com), March 01, 2000.

What can I say? The title is MUCH MUCH better! Sorry for the bad pun.... By the way, where are your examples? Why didn't you include your maxxed out durahan? Sometimes, the reason that people would use a method without having to read through it first, would be to look at examples of monsters raised by the method.

I was skimming your method and I saw many references to the term, "reset". That got me wondering.... does everybody actually know about the in-game reload functions?(ie, reload from menu, or simultaneously holding select and start)

That could really slow things down if you didn't know about those. None of the methods that include the term "reload," or "reset", actually specify HOW to do it. What if there are actually some ranchers who don't know how to do that? Here's a question: Do you know about that, The Man? That would be funny, if people use these methods without that prior knowledge to begin with.

Anyways, good work on your wicked method, The Man. It even looks nice and organized, just the way I like it.

-- RNA (RNA@Ribosome.nuc), March 01, 2000.

Yes, RNA I do know about the in-game reload. I just call it RESET so everyone knows what going on. I use the load from the menu quite a bit actually. Thanks for the compliments RNA. I didn't include my examples because I didn't see a need to. I didn't take into acount what you said. Sorry, about that. I suppose I should have listed examples. I like the title myself. I remember someone saying that line, I think it was Torey and I decided to use it. Anyway thanks for the compliments. Oh, also I'm sorry I forgot to mention in my method how much you helped me. So now I'll say it;Thanks RNA, for all the help and for your method. Without it I would not have been able to do this. Thanks.

-- The Man (djedmond@pinenet.com), March 01, 2000.

I dunno if you'll see this, The Man, but I just wanted to say good job on this method. I'm in the process of trying it out (well, a poor man's version of it, I don't have any of the spiffy items you mentioned up there, nor anywhere near that kind of cash) right now with my afore-mentioned Tyrant, and so far, things are definitely going well. I've just hit Stage 2 of the method. I have a couple of questions about it though... I found that giving my Tyrant mint leaves decreases it's loyalty (only by 1 point, but still...). Should I stop giving him the mint leaves? I haven't given him anything extra (play, extra food, etc.), but Coltia keeps telling me he's spoiled. Is that good or bad? Thanks for the help.

-- Jose (skasaiyan@hotmail.com), March 05, 2000.

Well thanks for using my method. First off Mint Leaves always reduce loyalty by 1 point and Nuts Oil will bring it up by 2 or 3 most of the time. What items you feed your monster makes a difference of whether or not you spoil it(so if you can afford tablets use tablets). You must punish your monster when he messes up and punish it when it cheats. The easiest way to reduce your raising style from "spoiled" to "even" is to feed your monster a "smoked snake"(which cost $600). These do not effect your monster's lifespan in anyway, but they will drop your monster's loyalty. Loyalty can be built back up easily though. So I would suggest the "smoked snakes". Good luck.
