A declaration to all trainers (repost)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B's Monster Rancher 2 : One Thread

I have two requests to make to ALL trainers that desire to participate:

I have a theory about lifespans. I am wondering that, if you combine two monsters with a short (negative) lifespan will you get a monster with a positive lifespan ( - x - = +). I will try to do as much research on this as I can, and ask the same to all that care to respond. An example of what i am asking would be something similar to the Joker/Tiger, or Dragon. Since all three of these are noted for their decrease in lifespan, my theory is that the combination of these monsters might result in a monster capable of living more than five years. I would rather these monsters be first generation, if possible.

Secondly, I would like to ask a question....What do I have to do to keep you from trashing one another!?!?! I have asked you politely. I have given you precise examples of what could result of this. I have even BEGGED! I understand that there will, ALWAYS, be some contradiction between trainers. It is simply nature....but what makes us different from other creatures in this world, is that we have the ability to douse that instinct with reason. I HAVE BENT OVER BACKWARDS FOR THIS BOARD!!! I am only aking these two MINISCULE favors from everyone. PLEASE, do this for me....for us. The current verbal abuse has always been high on this site, but things have gotten to the point that I can no longer allow. I cannot answer threads AND break up fights much longer. I am feeling weak, now. It is all in your hands. I pray that you will make the right decision.

I'm with Powdered or Gelatine?.

I still think the best way to deal with all of the slanderous posts on this site is by ignoring them. The more people that respond and become upset, the more reason there is for people to continue posting rude comments.

Great Googely Moogely, I think most of your posts are pretty humorous and at least you use good grammer and spelling and don't use profanity. The only thing you could do is tell the newbies your joking (though if they know anything about the game they should be able to tell). Keep having fun.

You don't even have to do that Eagle, it's already been proven that a 2nd gen monster lives a bit longer than a first, and a 3rd lives longer than a 2nd gen. Don't bother testing it out. Besides I can get any monster to live over 5 years without a peach.

No body asked you to be break up the fights. My believes are if you don't have anything usefull to say then Why respond. I try to answer many questions and it does quite irritate to see people lying to newbies even outrageously stupid lies can be interpreted as truths by someone who knows no better.

To Zack: Maybe, I didn't clearify that enough. I would like for everybody to raise something like a second generation Joker, then raise a Joker/Dragon that is escond generation. I know that through combining lifespan is usually enhanced. Hence, the only fair way to conduct these trials, is with two monsters of the same generation. I appologize if my post mislead you.

That is quite an interesting theory you have there, Eagle fierce. that would explain alot if you were right.

I guess I'll be first to give an example: My 1st gen durahan (durahan/durahan) lived to be 5yrs 6m(excessive battling) - nearly no lifespan left. My 1st gen gidras(dragon/metalner) lived to be 4yrs 4m (before I developed a good method of training) - no lifespan left.

The result: a 2nd generation metal glory that lived to 7yrs 7m old (near excessive battling)- a couple months left to live.

Note: this is the same metal glory as the one shown in my method. However, you may have noticed that my metal glory there says it is a 3rd gen. This is because I have just noticed that it was an error. I probably thought it was a 3rd gen because I combined 2 "non-raised" 1st gens to get my 2nd gen durahan(double-edged sword) - which really isn't a 2nd gen. Therefore, my metal glory is only a 2nd gen monster.

Eagle fierce, I believe you should go look at the thread, "thanks RNA [RNA: you're welcome]" in the "raising/training" category. A man named onomiba has raised a 4th gen metal glory. However, his metal glory scored a much lower lifespan than mine. I thought at first that form played in the low lifespan, however that has proved to be untrue. Since our methods are quite similar and the amount of battling is almost the same for both, I have found that nothing else could explain his metal glory's low lifespan. The specifics are in the thread mentioned above.

Thank you for the advice, RNA. I am, now, more certain than ever that my theory holds true. If anyone else has any experiences, I'm all ears.

good repost, the man. in a different post, i don't know if its been reposted or not, it is now proven that later gen monsters do NOT have an inherent lifespan advantage. they merely seem to have one, because you don't have to take them to as many errantries, because their starting stats are better they don't lose as many battles, etc.
