REM in FRANKFURT, June 1999

greenspun.com : LUSENET : R.E.M. : One Thread

Anyone go and see R.E.M. in Frankfurt this summer? I was working there for the summer and got free tickets. The last two songs were blow-out versions of "Man On The Moon" and "The End Of The World As We Know It".

Michael refused to sing "Everybody Hurts" because he claimed it was "A really beautiful song but very hard to sing"

Also, he sang the opening bars of "We Don't Need Another Hero" and that Neil Young song "Caught In A Trap" (I think) for some obscure reason. If anyone could explain...

So if you were there, mail me.

Slan abhaile Bye bye

Klaus

Hi Klaus! Well, I'm German and I was at the Frankfurt Concert. Of course. He didn't sing "Caught In A Trap", but "Suspicious Minds". That's an old Elvis song, I think. I know that, because I have a bootleg of the show and listen to it over and over again. It was a great show, wasn't it ?
