VERY Sick Calf

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I guess I was so upset I typed my email address wrong. Please click on this one if you answer. Just checked on her in the barn. She's laying quietly, no change. But she does'nt seem any worse. I'll repost in the morning.

Sherrie, It is good that the calf is still taking fluids. Hopefully all it needs is some antibiotics to get better. I have found that just giving the little guys some comfort, petting it and talking to it and if it is a little one, I bring them into the house. they are just babies and need some tlc when sick. Good luck and please let us know what happens. karen

Wanted to give you guys an update. I think Rosie is better. She's still not eating. But she looks better somehow. She's still laying down but, is chewing her cud & her head is up. We'll give her some more antibiotic in a little while. I was talking about bringing her in the house since it was raining & damp last night but I was afraid it would stress her to move her. Anyway I'm glad to know that wasn't such a crazy idea. Thanks to everyone!
