Making video cd

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I have a Hitachi dvd player(not a drive) and a cd/cd-rw burner. What do I need to make my own video cd? Can I use ordinary cd-r's. If so, do I need to close session and cd before viewing on dvd player?

Much Obliged, Rich.

First get rid of that Hitachi player because it will not and never read CD-R and CD-RW media. Get another set-top; after this read as much as you can till you're tired all of the concerned threads in this forum and you just might get your info. Lastly, yes, you can use CD-Rs (playable only on latest Pioneers and Philips set-tops, not Hitachi) and you indeed need to close the session before you can view it on your player.
