Wells Fargo ATM customers barred from account info for several hours SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Customers at thousands of Wells Fargo automated teller machines in eight Western states could get cash, but could not access account information or pay with their debit cards for three hours Monday. The bank blamed a a computer glitch.

Between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. PDT Monday, machines would not give account balances or other account information at as many as 4,500 machines in eight Western states, bank spokesman Larry Haeg said Tuesday.

He said the bank received complaints from California, Arizona and Nevada.

The problem was fixed by 10:20 p.m., Haeg said. The exact number of ATMs affected had not been confirmed, and Haeg would not discuss the nature of the computer glitch.
