Hi All!

I'm thrilled to announce that PhotoHighway will host a live chat event this Wednesday Night, April 12, at 9pm ET (US), with Dirck Halstead, the official White House photographer for Time magazine, with yours truly moderating!

Dirck will be answering your questions about his life as a photojournalist, what it takes to get started in the field today, convergence of digital, traditional and multimedia, his Platypus photojournalism and videojournalism workshops, photographing presidential campaigns and what it is like to have photographed six sitting presidents. He'll also talk about a multi-media project he's working on that will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Kent State antiwar protests which resulted in the killing of four students by the National Guard.

I'll be moderating, but this chat will be truly live, with no "screening" of questions. Dirck is very excited about doing this, and so am I. It promises to be an enjoyable, educational, fun hour.

I hope you can join us!

To enter the chat, go to http://chat.photohighway.com. Mac users need to use Netscape 4.x.

Cheers, Mason

.

BTW...if you can't make it to the chat, not to worry. Transcripts will be posted on PhotoHighway and on Dirck's excellent site (well worth a visit), http://www.digitaljournalist.org.

But, it's more fun live! :-)
