DEREGUALTION IN NEW YORK STATE

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Deregulation / Restructuring Discussion: - Energy Utilities in the 21st Century : One Thread

How has energy been deregulated in New York State? I am told that gas has been deregulated but how about electricity? Also, is there a website or a source that gives actual, concrete consumer-oriented dergulation, state by state?

Audra and David,

Yes, NY state has deregulated the electric market. You can find out everything you could possibly want to know by going back to the Energyland main website, and clicking on the "State Energy Choice Info" dropdown box in the left menu. If you have any questions after reviewing the NY information, please let us know.

Oh, also - you might want to read Dick Mill's "Energy Issues" columns - Dick is a NY state resident, and talks about some specific New York state energy issues.
